Kardus 2008 Edition

One of my favorite things about the Kardus is how it's chopped insted of ground. The flavor is wounderful as well.

It is truly incredible stuff!
It's got a taste almost like mincemeat (I don't know if you US forum users know what that is but it's the stuff in mince pies - boozy dried fruit)
I don't know why there isn't another quality los available that has the same long cut to it - it keeps it's shape in the lip for absolutely ages. Does anyone know if the Kardus that they used to sell all year round came even close to the quality of this one?

Got mine yesterday from GetSnus with no issues. I also had some last night and all I can say is WOW. My only fear is I will use it to quick and want more.

I am not sure how well a small bit of loose would make it in the mail. True that the container was not refrigerated in the mail, but it was also unopened.Originally posted by Condoryo, kid! who got some of that brown?!
can i buy a dime bag of kardus off of someone? i just need to see if its worth buying next year. not necessarily a dime bag, but a pris or so.

My KArdus order just came. I am pleased to report that GetSnus got my packaging right as it arrived unharmed. Since it has been unrefirigerated for awhile I am letting it cool a liitle before sampling.

Well, I definitely don't mean they should give him a Kardus for free for the mistake, but maybe a 15% discount on the next order up to $100 would not be bad. Just a gesture would be nice, because that looked like terrible packaging if that was what the box looked like in that pic when it was opened. If some packing material was taken out and it was packed up tight, then it probably was damaged in delivery. If the latter was the case, then yes, a simple refund would probably be enough.Originally posted by lxskllrI generally agree, and for a normal tin of snus, $3 isn't much to keep the customer happy. $60 is a lot, especially if the damaged shipment wasn't their fault. Snus retailers work on pretty thin margins. I doubt they receive much from that $60, so that's big chunk out of their bottom line.
After having crappy service from different companies(not snus related), even average old fashioned service is pretty special.

I hate to sound negative, but well...I kind of see that as the minimum that getsnus would do. Basically, their packaging caused Bake to miss out on (what I have gathered to be) a once-a-year opportunity. It's the seller/shipper's responsibility until it's delivered. They are pretty much obligated to replace or refund if it arrives destroyed. Even if it's not law, it's just understood that a company that wants to stay in business has to do it.Originally posted by lxskllrThat's very upright of Getsnus to refund your money. It's hard to top that for customer service. Sucks that you lost the Kardus, but I'm very impressed with Getsnus' response.
We all love snus, and it's great that companies are shipping it to us, but at the end of the day we are their customers and we make them money. Probably most of us make them a lot of money. If it is really just out of stock and I could get it in a few weeks, that would be one thing, but if this would mean that I could not try this stuff for another year, I would probably ask for a discount on my next order. I don't typically expect something for free, but this is kind of a special circumstance.
That's just my two cents.

Originally posted by ZeroThere are plenty of examples of financial idiocy in the world, but buying a nice snus I don't think to be one of them. They can't well produce it cheaply - it comes in a quality, well crafted, custom made, limited edition box. There are tooling costs to starting up a limited production line, the selection of tobacco is done by hand, an incredibly laborious process, and the processing is tweaked and monitored every step of the way. It is costly, certainly, but it is not "ridiculously" priced. Ridiculously priced would be selling a tin of Ettan for the price of a roll - a case where the cost could not be justified.
This I see as no different than expending effort to do anything else one found enjoyable. Some would spend a week of holidays to trek through a wild forest on a camping expedition - braving weather, cold, insects, heavy burdens, and bruises. To others, this may seem a ridiculous waste of time and effort. Curiously, though, we are much quicker to critisise others, and even to secretly hold critical thoughts of others, when they do the exact same thing in indirect exchange rather than directly. Not when they use their time to do something extravagant, but when they save, in the form of money, the time they used working instead. It's just a means of deriving pleasure from being alive. That's what we all do every day.
Moreover, it is an effective means - people hope that they will derive pleasure from their Kardus and they do. Foolishness, in my books, would be malinvestment - spending money on something you expect to derive pleasure from and failing. Working a pyramid scheme, for example - that's craziness because the person in question believes they will get rich when they really have very little likelihood of doing so. Another example might be refinancing your house in a bubble market to buy things you can't afford. That I would shake my head at. But people, who can afford the small luxury, buying Kardus... I don't see anything wrong with that.
If you want something to be upset about which involves money, let's have a discussion about the state of the world right now and the things our elected leaders are doing with our same hard-earned money. Your feelings towards Kardus enthusiasts, I'm sure, will become jolly ones in no time.
