i wonder why i'm not into the "classic" snus. it's weird. i've tried almost all of them, and i can't get into any of them with the bergamot in them. maybe it's because i've only been snusing for 5 months and my tastes haven't changed yet, but i still can't get into the ones i didn't like in the beginning. the only "classic" snus i guess that i can get into is ettan, which i love. but it doesn't have bergamot in it. maybe bergamot isn't for everyone?

Every single time I steal a smoke from my wife, I'll snus as soon as it's done.

LOL, yes, I always snus as soon as I have a cigarette. Not sure if it is just to get the taste out, or I feel i have sinned and must rush right back into the fold. But regardless, yes, I do that every time I smoke.

Just strange that you would be feeling any cravings for nicotine per se with that kind of usage. My guess is it really is all in your head. Just my guess.

as i was talking about the other day, saying how much thunder frosted i had used, i'm using at least a can a day. and i don't only snus when i crave nicotene, i mean there are days i will chain snus, there will be days when i'm sitting around the house and i'll just snus for pleasure and do like 10 different kinds just for fun.

on a side note, if i smoke a cigarette, when i'm done, i'll want a snus. have you had that happen before? it was weird, when i started i would snus and want a smoke. now if i smoke, which is RARE, i will want a snus after.

Important question, how much snus are you using a day??

I never had nicotine cravings as I switched over as I started using the snus the same way I smoked, I chain snused. My first year, I probably used 20 portions a day.

That has gone down significantly as I have adjusted over time. If I were to go back to smoking cigarettes right now, I probably would only need a pack a days as opposed to the two packs a day i was smoking before.

If you are waiting to feel the need for nicotine before you snus, I think you are doing it wrong IMHO. Especially when i was new, I started snusing non stop from the moment I woke up so I built up a steady state of nicotine in my blood. I then maintained my usage so that high level of nicotine never dropped. If you look at the science of how long nicotine stays in your blood with snus, you will see there is never a reason to let it drop, really easy to maintain.

I think I'm not quite there yet, I only recently quit smoking in April, and I still snus mostly to control those cravings, however at times I do snus for pleasure. But alot of times I'm looking to control my nic cravings.

Chad, get to a certain pointy with your snus usage and nicotine content is not a large factor at any given moment. I like some Sterks, I like some minis and I like many, many regular portions. My use of a particular snus at any given moment may be dictated by how much nicotine I feel i need or don't. But that has nothing to do with what snus I love

So I see nothing wrong with liking both Thunder frosted and General Mini Mint. Just use each as is appropriate at that moment.

And just a note of caution. Folks who talk about getting a "buzz" from snus are raw newbies. Sometime soon, you really need to let go chasing that. Simply the longer you use nicotine, the less it is even possible to get a buzz. I could probably overdose on Thunders now, to a point I was ill, and I would still get no buzz.

I've never seen someone say they like Thunder Frosted and Mini Mint in the same breath. interesting. Do you have to use like 5 mini mints, I mean if you're a Frosted user and all. I had to put in a ton the other day to get a buzz.

Lucky Strike and Gustavus are pretty salty, but not stark portions.

I really like salty. I am really enjoying my new shipment of General Original portions. IMO opinion they are juicy and delicious. Nicotine lacks just a bit but the taste is damn fine. I do like the flavor of general white as well but I do prefer the flood of juice. I have ordered Qlac Qui and General Onyx hopefully they also have a fine flavor with a bit more nicotine. What would you guys recommend for a good "juicy" salty sterk original portion?

Justin speaks the truth. My first order was a white portion sampler from Getsnus. The first month of snusing I could not tell the difference between General, Grov, and GR#1. The only one that was distinctive was the Roda. I am in no means a vet, but now I can tell a HUGE difference in the three.

    You've got 2 problems.

    1. People new to snus usually are very sensitive to salt and tend to pick the heavier flavoured snuses to mask the taste. What the veterans like usually don't appeal to the snubie.

    2. People's tastes vary so widely

The way I started out is I went with the most popular snuses stuff like General and Ettan (they are the top sellers for a reason?) and added a variety from there, or you could go with the top 10 package @ Northerner. Once you've had a couple weeks under your belt then you can start to find your way through the maze.

The biggest mistake you can make when starting out is to start ordering rolls of snus and getting 10 cans of something you don't like.
