Well, I've got some Gold River coming. I believe I will like it, as I like the sweet loose leaf chews. But apart from these Gold Rivers, I'm gonna quit dip, because while I do like the taste of the Natural style dips, I still don't much like the dip cut, even Extra Long Cut is still small cut to me. I prefer a big hunk of leaf from a pouch.

Yes, I have had the Grizzly Snuff, and I thought it was very good. I have also had the Copenhagen Snuff, and I think it's very good, as well as the Copenhagen Long Cut, and Extra Long Cut. I also like Grizzly 1900, and Grizzly Natural Long Cut, and Red Seal Natural Long Cut, and Skoal Classic Long Cut. I generally like the flavor of Natural dips, though I find the cuts too small to my liking, but I can deal with it, be it fine cut or long cut. I also like the sweet tobacco flavor of loose leaf chew, which is what made me want to try Gold River. But I don't like flavored dip. I've tried a few of the Straight dips, and I don't know what that flavor is, but while sometimes it seems ok, sometimes good, I ended up not liking it. I have an open can of Copenhagen ELC, but I reach for the loose leaf chew more than anything(including snus).

            Which is better?........
Hmmm.... well, I'm not sure. It's been a long time since I had Copenhagen Snuff, and not too long ago when I had the Grizzly. I wanna say they are equally good, and similar.

Get a can of the Copenhagen Snuff, and find out, I do know it was very good.

will do. so far grizzly snuff is the only dip i can use that doesn't cause my bottom teeth to get sensitive. it helps that it tastes good as well. hvae you tried lower-lipping snus?

I think you'd like Grizzy 1900 too. And the Grizzly Natural Long Cut. I bought a can once of Grizzly Natural Fine Cut, and it must have been a bad can, as it was terrible.

Cope is the best. I like grizzley because it's strong as hell, the fiberglass or whatever glistens in the sun like little diamonds.

But cope is the best flavor, favored by most Real Americans (TM).

I do like copes flavor better, But grizz snuff takes the cake for nic and I'm finally getting a hang of the fine cut.

Anyone here like wintergreen dip? This is a popular dip flavor, and I really don't think I have ever tried it, thinking I would not like it. I even had a free can coupon for the new Copenhagen wintergreen but I gave it my guitarist. Anyway, I am thinking of getting a can this weekend, just to say I have tried it. I'll probably get the Copenhagen, as it's still cheap, and I was very impressed with their straight.

For me, the funny thing about wintergreen is that Kodiak Wintergreen was the first dip I ever tried when I was about 16. I remember turning as green as the tin and running to the bathroom to puke about 15 minutes after putting it in my lip, much to my friends' enjoyment I'm sure. Because of that experience, I was totally turned off from wintergreen flavored dip and even the smell of it would make me nausous for the longest time. Before snus and snuff, I primarily smoked but would pick up the odd tin of Kodiak Mint every month or two if I was faced with an extended situation where I couldn't smoke (weekend with the inlaws, etc.). I also unsuccessfully quit smoking 2 or 3 times by switching to dip for about 4-6 months or so. About a month ago, I tried to get my usual odd tin of Kodiak Mint - the store was sold out. I caved and decided to get the wintergreen. 12 years after my first negative go-around, I love the wintergreen! It was great - and the smell didn't put me off like it used to. FYI - the Kodiak line is very high in nic, I would say even more so than Grizzly. In my opinion, Kodiak makes the gold-standard in wintergreen flavored dip.

Tom - I just read this entire thread today. I have an unopened tin of the new Copenhagen Extra Long Cut Natural in my refrigerator. Did you ever try this dip? I think I will break it open later tonight.

To support you in your loose-leaf chew efforts, I included a bag of Red Man chew in my last getsnus.com order. I got it last night and between loading the upper lip with Oden's Extra Stark and smoking my pipe, I was able to pack a cheek-full of Red Man. The sweet goodness of this chew is outstanding. I find that the nic level is medium to low, but the satisfaction level is high with this chew. Great tasting, mellow, and good to chew up for at least half an hour. Thats the thing with loose-leaf - you have to actually chew it up to smaller bits to get the full experience. When there is no flavor left, you spit it out. What loose-leafs have you been trying? I saw some interesting options on getsnus.com (apple, etc.) and would like to include one or two in my next snus order.

Hi Lincoln, yes, I have tried the Copenhagen Natural ELC, a few cans, and I did like it a lot. Mainly I was just doing natural dips, but I think I have gotten tired of them, and that prompted me to try the Copenhagen straight, which was really good, and I'll get again.

I have used a few bags of chew, Red Man, Red Man Select, Levi Garrett, which was great, Trophy, which stands out because it's not as heavy sweet, but it's OK, Starr, which is very good, and cheap, Southern Pride, which was decent, Morgans, was good, but had a too much like cotton candy sweetness, and I have an unopened bag of Taylor's Pride, which I haven't had before/yet.

Currently I have some Gold River dip in.

I picked up a can of Cope Natural ELC the other day, and I was quite pleased. I've never been big into dip, but I thought I'd give it a try. I can see the occasional purchase in the future. I might try the straight as well.
