I only dip once in a while to give the upper gums a break.

I certainly don't make a full time habit anymore. A can when my upper gums start to feel the pain tingle. Fun to go back on in moderation. Try laying off chew for a little while is the recession is on your mind. Like snus, since you never really used it before your lower pinks are soft and gentle and small recession will be tore a little bit until healed back up and stronger.

Since I discovered loose leaf chewing tobacco, I have lost my interest in dip. I just don't like the small cut of the tobacco. I had a half can each of Cope Whiskey and Grizzly Natural Long Cut, and I pitched them. While some had very good flavors, it was the cut, regardless of it being "long cut" or "fine cut" that did not sit well with me. Yes, I could "do" it, and maybe it's still my noob status with dip, but I just really much prefer a big chaw. Now I just need to search out some less sweet varieties. Yes the sweet ones are good, but I know there are some non and less ones, and I think I'd like that even more.

I haven't dipped in quite a while but I've been itching to pick up a tin of Grizzly 1900. Any thoughts on this flavor?

I thought 1900 was very good. Has a great taste, and was very unique to me. The cut was weird, I called it a mud cut. But it's good, though I don't much care for the dip cut. I prefer a big hunk of leaf.

                  Has anyone here tried:

                  Gold River?

I am curious about this one.

                  Any comments or mini-reviews?

Not sold around here in these parts. Curious but I think I can hold off on it unless its thrown into my lap. What flavors do they come in?

Well, I didn't see Gold River at the grocery today, and I don't wanna spend $6 postage to order it from Northerner. So, if I don't see it locally, I'll live without it. Unless I was ordering some snus or other stuff, I'd add it on.

But, what I have read, is Gold River come in one flavor, and it's a longer long cut, and the flavor is like loose leaf chew, but in a dip cut, so I imagine Levi Garrett chew, but cut into dip style long cut.

                      This sounds good to me.

That is a really unique flavor for a dip I might have to order some whenever I need another northerner order or something.

Got a can of Grizzly Snuff. came in a metal box/case that has the american snuff co. label on it

the box is pretty cool and I havent had grizzly snuff in atleast a year or two so it should be nice to revisit

It's probably been 20 years, but I seem to recall it was very sweet, kind of like a sweet loose leaf chew flavor.

Sometimes I miss dip, for a few minutes, but it's a feeling that is fleeting.
I'll never dip again, i quit over a year ago...
kodiak/skoal fine cut were my two constant faves, with grizz wg as third.
the sharp taste of kodiak was always great, same with skoal fine.
About 5 yrs ago I spilled a spitter on my lap and my GF at the time went on a tear about it...so
from that point on i never spit and i found that gutting didnt' bother me at all.
spitting and spitter disgust me and i have a hard time looking at either.
                                nasty
