There is no law against selling expired snus, especially since it's advertised as such.

      Hey Tommy, et all

Ive made 2 more orders, one of 5 rolls, one of 10, and got hammered on duty each time. The lady at the post office said to dispute...she says she has customers bringing in lots of Japanese Tabacco, and they just dispute every single order and either get it reduced or eliminated. Her explanation was that the duty officers are way understaffed and the disputes are low priority. She said they just slap whatever duty they feel like on there and know that 99% of people just pay it.

So Im going to place 2 more orders, and dispute one just to see what happens.

More to come! Let the game continue!

Yes dispute every one, nothing to lose except the local tamp . On the other hand if you live close to the US border, like me, shipping there is much more faster and the customs way less. Placed an order with Toque on the 19 and it i there now waiting for me to pickup, a 30 minutes drive south, no hassle, Canada shipping is around 7-14 days at best !!!

that is great, was it packaged in an unmarked Northerner bubble envelop? the last couple orders I got from Northerner were in an unmarked, you know no Northerner label on the envelope, that is how they send now and it is helping a lot, thank you Northerner for being so considerate

It's great to hear that some packages are getting through. Unfortunately I got nailed by BADGE NUMBER 17693, AGAIN. Four cans of portions, total 88 grams, should be $26.40 in Provincial Tobacco Tax. This agent charges double that, $51. That the tax is assessed by weight must be incomprehensible to this person, because they charge $51 no matter how much it weighs. Maybe the only way to deal with this agent is to order rolls, where the tax would be over $51.

I sent the package back to CBSA for reassessment. Of course the clerk at the drugstore had no idea what I was talking about, AGAIN, and the manager is off on holidays. So of course I have to waste more of my time explaining their own procedures to them.

I can probably kiss this package goodbye, just like the last one that went for reassessment. This is so f'king retarded.

              Happy Holidays!

@ Snarfblat. You certainly have had your share of issues with CBSA. I've read most of your posts regarding your experiences. You have done some excellent research! I really appreciate it. Are you still ordering from the Northerner? As mentioned my shipment likely got through due to the incredibly small print on the label. I have very good eyes and could barely make it out. Also, scirbbled on top of the tiny Northerner label in equally tiny letters was the word 'snus' written in pen. I have written several emails to Northerner pleading with them to label their shipments to Canada in small print, explaining that this will alleviate unfair and incorrect taxes and delays to their many Canadian customers. ..........maybe it's starting to work? Or maybe the dipshit with badge # 17693 was off that day.

I wish you happy holidays and better luck with future shipments.

                Cheers.

Thanks. I have a couple of packages in the mail right now coming from Northerner, I hope that they make it through. One of them is overdue though, I suspect that customs has it.

I received my second order in my mailbox today. Ordered Dec. 15th, shipped the 16th, and arrived in the mail today. Another one made it through.....free and clear with no BS. 2 cans of Skruf stark los, 2 Offroad apple longcut, 1 Offroad orange longcut, and 2 prismaster tools. Again, small bubble-wrap envelope with a Northerner label and the word 'snus' written in small hand-writing. The label was approx the size of a postage stamp. The text is barely ledgible even when squinting.

Not trying to gloat here about my orders getting through................just super-pumped. That is until I tasted the Offroad apple........nasty stuff! Thankfully, the Skruf is awesome and the orange is actually quite nice too IMO....a bit of mint in the orange flavour which is kinda nice. The Roda Lacket and General from my first order are absolutely delicious but the nic kick from the Skruf stark finally has me tingling without having to cram too much in.

Can't wait to 'roll the dice' with my next order. Hope my luck holds, and good luck to my fellow Canadian snusers!

Sorry to hear that Tommy...another Federal agency that has things all farked up. My 3rd order arrived last week and I got hit with their taxes/duty. $53 on 5 cans. A quick calculation tells me that I'm payin' about $14 a can after I pay off our Feds. Still a bit cheaper than the dip, and redman (and safer). Anyway, I am considering having future orders sent to my parents summer house address down in Birch Bay WA.

On the plus side, my order contained my new absolute freaking favourite. Lucky Strike Nites Extra Strong Portions. Wow. These are a real treat. I will still enjoy the Los varieties at home and out on the river but for social nicotine use...... I've found my brand. Lucky Stike Nites Extra Strong. Awesome.

I send my order to my Point Roberts address but one catch you can not purchase LS or any other "banned" brands when sending to a US address, so it is a catch 22 situation, I use my US address for all other brands but when I want the other brands then good old Canada address and our notorious customs, when are we having a revolution against the Nazis ???

Interesting Maher. I hadn't thought of the LS issue. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I would love to run into a D-Bag from CBSA. Real freaking heroes. It's sad when your gov't is a criminal.......

yeh I know, it does not work unfortunately and you also need to pay WA taxes which you will pay when you order from Northerner, it is applied at the time of the order, making each can around 7$-8$, not bad compared to what we pay here, but as you know, we get lucky every now and then, and a package or two passes under their noses, I am waiting on a package from Northerner in a week or so, hoping and praying lol, had to send it to Canada for LS and LD cans

I'm about three orders in so far. First order from Northener got through but arrived in a see through Canada Post bag that apologized for my mail being opened. My second order, well actually part of my first order, was a roll of Copenhagen and a pouch of Levi Garrett, got nailed for $14.67.

Today I got nailed for 5 cans from an order I placed with buysnus. $16.29. I expected an order I placed with them from Feb.18th. The one I picked up was from an order I made on the 22nd. I wonder where that first order is? I imagine in customs

I am still expecting three more orders: A roll of Jakobsonn's Classic Strong, along with the two free tins and free shipping tins they advertise, for a total of 14 tins from Northener. From Buy snus, the second half of the order I picked up today (they split the order up), my original buysnus order, a total of 9 tins, As well as another 7 can order from Northener.

If the duty stays the same as i've been paying, i'll be pretty content and will probably have enough to keep me happy for a month or two at the rate I'm snusing
