Swedish warehouse. Usually takes a week to get it.. unless the Nazis get their dirty mitts on it. I have ordered for the US warehouse as well, takes longer and its bound to get raped by customs more then getting it from Sweden as i have noticed.

I order from the Swedish warehouse most of the time but I also order from the US and send it to my WA address as it is much faster and safer to order. Other Canucks if you live near a border town I highly recommend getting a US address and ship there the only draw back is that you can not order LS, Swedish Camel to that you still need to send it through our beloved Nazis

Last weeks i received a few orders.
I received my order from northener from the us warehouse, no taxes. There were a few trial packs from general, then again it was less than 200g total.
My northener shipment from sweden, 4 cans, got dinged with a 30$ duty.
My buysnus shipment for 4 cans, got dinged with a 25$ duty.

Contrary to most canadians, so far the best experience ive had has been shipping from the US.

I ordered two packages from buysnus.com
10 Cans of General Original and 1 Can Random (turned out to be Thunder Blue which is STRONG-hehehe)

First package of 5 cans came through no problem at all, about a week.

Second package of 6 cans got nabbed by the Nazis and they dinged me $69 for 6 cans. $43 PST (we don't even have PST in ALberta! stupid) $5 Handling fee and $18 Duty.

So, thought 1 is: I know it's only one trial but it seems like smaller packages would get through easier. Maybe try limiting cans to 4-5 per package. Maybe even less. Second, what about telling them to stuff it with newspaper or something. The second package that came you could easily feel tobacco shaped tins, total alarm bells.

Thought 3 is: When I paid the duty I received a CBSA POstal Import form. I am most definitely contesting this. How should I go about it? You can dispute classification (they classified it as Tobacco, it's not it's SNUS which AFAIK isn't even classified in their customs regulations), incorrect value, or other. Obviously the duty is BS and I can send them my invoice showing 5 cans only cost me $15, that's about 100% duty on what I paid. But the PST, dunno how to get around that. Any ideas?

Anyone contested customs and got money back?

I have three cases in process, they will return the case to you asking for more details, they want the price and weight of the can on the invoice which the invoice does not have, so printed a screen print of each can showing the weight and price, sent that to them more than 3 weeks ago, still waiting. As usual you have to pay first then contest, and as you said the duty is way high, but do contest it and ask for the difference even if it was 10$ remember they will charge and demand their last penny !!! good luck

What was your reason for contesting that you put on the form? I have a couple ideas. One is I could say that snus isn't in the customs tariff (it isn't) or that it isn't 24g of tobacco but 24 grams of SNUS, which is a combination of things.

no Snus is in the customs tariffs , Snus is swedish for snuff so it is a moist snuff , which I have had marked on the customs form

you can try that, my contest was for the high tariff used

                          Where would you move to.

The symptoms you outline seem to be pretty much everywhere!!

Correct, which carries a rate of 5% I believe.

Also, and I can't remember for sure as I don't have the receipt from CBSA but I believe that the form does not have a dedicated box for "Excise" tax so I thought they lumped that amount under either "PST" or the "Duty $" field.

So JMo, keep in mind you are charged duty, GST/HST/PST (if applicable) & Excise tax on tobacco.

                              It's a Trifecta!

If you go to Switzerland, can you pick me up a watch? (duty free of course !)

Also, to play devil's advocate as I know it's therapeutic to place our anger at the CBSA but I hope we all realize that they are simply enforcing what's written in the Excise & various other Acts re: importation/taxation of tobacco.

It's our elected officials that are the real problem and the anti-tobacco zealots that sway them.

Received my latest order today from Northener. It took only six days. Mostly various loose with a few portions tins. I had a total of ten cans. No taxes/duties
