Not Impressed with Northerner So Far..

I've been waiting for 12 days for my order of snus to come in from northerner.com. I sent them an email this afternoon about my concern. I've used them exclusively until now. They were very prompt (7 days) in the past. I'm pretty upset about it actually because my snus supply ran out a few days ago and i've resorted to american chewing tobacco as a substitute. I was dipping copenhagen for 2 days until i noticed little bloody bumps on the inside of my cheek. Freaked me out so i bought a pack of cigarettes instead. I choked down 3 smokes then tossed them out because i can't handle the smoke anymore and finally bought skoal bandits. These are doing the trick for now but they're a very poor substitute. i want my snus damnit :evil: lol

I don't know where to place the blame though. I doubt it's with northerner.com actually. They've been excellent up until now. I used REK mail this time, not knowing what the hell it is but apparently it's shipped over on boats because it's taking so ****ing long. It could also be U.S. Customs poking around in my snus looking for drugs and bombs. It really pisses me off that my tax dollars are being spent on the stupidest shit to give the false illusion of safety meanwhile thousands of illegal immigrants just walk into the country with ****ing furniture strapped to their back and nobody does anything about it! :evil:

anyway, my rant is over with. I just hope my snus comes tomorrow. A part of me dies everyday that i come home to an empty mailbox :cry: lol

I will also be destitute if this does not arrive late this week or early next. They haven't even billed my credit card, it turns out. Maybe the problem IS with Northerner. Why oh why can't we just pick up our snus at the corner store? :cry:

I just received an order from Northerner. It arrived in 5 days, the same as always. I am going on my 12th order with them and no problems so far. I always just use the standard mail option though.

It's been 2 weeks. I still haven't received my order from northerner.com. I don't know what happened to it. it's safe to say i'm not going to get it. :cry:

I have an order coming REK mail and one with the normal mail option. Both shipped on the same day, so if they didn't combine the orders, I might get an idea of which is quicker. I ordered something from the UK one time that took 2 months to show up. I contacted the company and they resent it, I got that one after 5 days. Then my orginal order showed up a month later. Sometimes things just get lost in the post for whatever reason. Hope my REK order isn't one of them.

Good luck with that. i'm still waiting for my REK order from northerner. 16 days and counting. You're only a stones throw away from me so i wouldn't be surprised if you have similar problems.

I only use them never any problems always get my order within 4 days from Sweden to the UK
I used to order cope from mycigars.com which is in Joplin Missouri if I remeber and it would always take 3 weeks minimum for it to arrive from the U.S - UK

Well, I got the regular mail package. It shipped from Northerner on the 9th and arrived the 13th. I also got the Buysnus package. It shipped on the 8th and got here on the 13th. Quicker then last time for them. No sign of the REK Shipped order though which also shipped the 9th.

i ordered the northerner sampler pack and it shipped on the 5th using REK, i was hoping for it to show up in the mail today but it has not yet. hope i dont have the same problems y'all are having...

I use to order from Northerner all the time. Not anymore, the prices have sky rocketed. Now I only order from Swedishsnus.com & buysnus.com.

TheInsulator - send an email to Northerner and tell your story, if the parcel is lost they always ship out a new one.

Yeah, but only if you pay with US-Dollars. The prices are pretty stable, if you convert them to Euros. I don't think, that the other vendors are able to offer much better $-prices.

Northerner charges:

General los $3.40 + $1.95(tax) = $5.35 :cry:

General white portion $3.60 + $0.94(tax) = $4.54 :cry:

These prices I listed above don't even include shipping. Forget about it, I'll start dipping skoal before I pay prices like that.

The taxes disappear, if you order a bit more than two cans.

Though I assume, that I know the reasons for the Swedish taxes being added, namely the lack of usable export-certificates for the Swedish finance office, when using the cheap mail option, I simply must say, that the taxes indeed suck. Northerner should change this. It's certainly no ripp-off, but it doesn't look very professional, when doing international business with private customers. I would feel ripped-off too, if I had to pay U.S.-taxes, when ordering from overseas (though I'm sure, these taxes are in the price anyway).

To cut a long story short, I'd check Buysnus.

BTW, the US-Dollar will rise again, no doubt. The currency-exchange-rates have always been just a playing field for banks and speculators, without a real link to the monetary policy of a certain government or the real strength of an economy. I still remember, how the Euro declined without any reason, a few years ago. Ditto for the Deutsche Mark, several times in the past decades.
