I placed an on-line order a few days ago. I have yet to receive an email confirming my purchase. I sent them an email asking for confirmation, no response yet. I also can't find a link on their website where I can review the status of my order. I think i will stick with buysnus from now on, Northerner doesn't seem as well operated.

That sucks.. I've good luck with them. Within a few minutes of my order, I always get a confirmation email with my order number and receipt number. I'll also suggest the obvious stuff that I always forget. Like making sure that their emails (usually from mailbox@northerner.com) aren't being blocked in some spam filter by your ISP or email client.
When your order completed, you should have been shown an Order Number and a Receipt Number. If you'll go to https://www.northerner.com/support and put those in, along with your email address, you should be able to see the status of your order.
They once mis-shipped me something (a tin of Lucky Strike portion instead of LS mini-white portion), but other than that, never had a problem with 'em.

Is it possible that an email from them might have gone to a "junk" or "spam" folder in your email? Usually, they send out an email immediately afterwards containing a link to where you could check out your order based on your order #, your receipt # and your email address.
Edit: Clearly, I waited a minute too long to post. ;D

I've had nothing but good experiences with Northerner. The e-mails always arrive within minutes and the packages usually arrive in 5-7 days.

I've placed my very first snus order with Northerner this past Monday and received confirmation almost immediately and received my package yesterday (Thursday) -- (UPS Express Saver). So, I have to say my one experience with Northerner was excellent . . . but I ordered the Northerner try out 24 can portion box: http://www.swedish-snus.com/en/usd/s...us_mix_portion , and instead of getting Göteborgs Rape white portion, they gave a can of Granit portion instead. Should I bring this to their attention or just let it go? Everything else in my order was as promised.

Cigator, are you sure, your order has been sent in the first place? Normally (as jqlynch already said), you should see a confirmation-screen at the end of the order, which gives you an order-number, a receipt-number and a link to watch the status of your order. Even without an e-mail-confirmation, you get all the data.
Maybe there was a technical problem (e.g., your browser has cookies disabled) and your order was not sent.
I often read, that, depending on the browser-settings, people have technical problems with Northerner-orders. That applies for many webshops and I even know some, that only work with the Internet-Explorer, not Firefox.
I never had the slightest problems with Northerner, always very fast delivery and very fresh snus.
I guess you should wait for Northerner's reply, to be sure, what happened.

If I remember correctly, when I ordered from Northerner this past Monday, it looked like my order was completely processed based on what the screen looked like after the credit card info was accepted. But then I noticed I had to click an additional button to completely completely process the order. And I was thinking, "Wow, I almost missed that . . . my order wouldn't have gone through." Could this have happened?

I wouldn't worry about it. It's all new to you so your not really missing out on anything. I ordered some stuff from Northerner a few days ago and received a prompt email with an order number and code. Problem is, all it tells me is that the order is "in stock ready to be shipped." After several days, shouldn't it be telling me that it HAS been shipped?
