    Hi Guys!

Just want to tell that we will change the shipments to Swedish Post from Swiss Post. Thanks to you guys we realized it's a faster service. You and all our other customers are our boss and we have to listen, learn and follow.

We thought that Swiss Post would be a better alternative since it's cheaper. With the new deal with Swedish Post it will not be as cheap for us but we will still offer you approximately the same shipping cost as with Swiss Post.

Have a nice day and thanks for commenting about how we and all others can improve ourselves.

    Sincerely,

    Frank

That is great news Frank. I would still probably use Fedex as I like tracking my orders, but thanks for listening to us.

Now just start stocking Gellivare again and you will make me a very happy man.

      K

Ps: I have never had an issue with Northerner. EVER. Correction: they once sent me a can of Ettan White instead of Ettan Original portions. Oh no not that!!!

I've been using Northerner for probably twice as long as 80% of the members here (2 1/2 years) so hearing someone who has only ordered a couple of times rant about the terrible service they receive is like hearing someone tell me Camel Snus (US) is awesome.

However if you have a legitimate complaint I am sure that Northerner will sort it out.

A company that listens to its customers??
That just might catch on. Can't ask for anymore than that.
        Thanks Frank.

Hello Frank. Sorry for this as I'm about to go a little off-topic, however, I am rather concerned about a certain company-web vendor that goes by snus.com which is apparently affiliated with you and I can confirm does ship product in "Northerner" labeled boxes.

Please pick up on this discussion on what I see as a potential "show stopper" which relates to shipping method thus why I bring it up in this thread at this time. <---Click

I don't think you are going to win over too many people from the USA if the only option for shipment reverts to UPS SAVER unknowingly to the consumer which leads to a rather disturbing brokerage fee bill coming in the mail weeks later. :x

well now I'm confused. If northerner changes its shipping method is it going to cost us more to have our snus shipped. A few pennies is ok but anything more than that is not. I don't mind waiting a full 2 weeks [or even 3 weeks] for my orders. I have never had an issue with my packages being damaged. So what does a change mean to the US purchaser? I don't like UPS!!!!
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Not switching to UPS. They are going to be using Swedish Post like Buysnus. So probably faster shipping times for a similar price.

The UPS default I believe is for snus.com

Yea sorry about that. Just to clear things up. Snus.com is the ones that seem to choice UPS to ship with no other choice. They pissed me off because of this which led to a new bill in my mailbox from UPS - customs. I related this to this discuss on Northerner mainly for two reasons:

                          1) Since the box snus.com shipped my snus in was loaded with "Northerner's" logos & I've also heard others commenting on them being a part of Northerner.

                          2) Since this discuss has recently turned to "Shipping method via Northerner".

-3) Since a guy named Frank (I think) had PM'd me here in the past in relation to another issue I had with Snus.com

-4) Since Snus.com reps don't seem to be answering my email inquiry into this matter.

-5) So I can piss off RedMacGregor cause I think he owns stock in Northerner.

                          /The End

Pissing me off too for whatever that is worth.

First and important question. Does Northerner own Snus.com or is snus.com just using Northerner as a drop ship point the same way as Snuscentral uses Buysnus. Buysnus is not responsible for how snuscentral runs their website. So which is it??? I don't honestly know but makes a huge difference.

Even if Northerner does own it. So what is the huge deal. You feel you were misinformed about how it would ship?? OK, that is a real issue. But it isn't the end all be all either. Legitimate company, got you your snus, you just feel you were "tricked" into using UPS???

Question, did any shipment e-mails indicate it was being sent UPS.

Question. does any FAQ on their site expplain how product is shipped?

In the end, you got a brokerage notice from UPS. Has happened to hundreds of folks here over the years who use UPS. Reason I always say don't use UPS. But it isn't that huge of a deal. Just the difference between private shipping, where UPS acts as customs agent on your behalf and bills for such, and public shipping, where you have to act as your own agent should it come to that.

But not a huge issue. geez.

Yes, by not getting to choose the shipping method and then it defaulting to UPS which does risk incurring the very fees I ended up being charged.

Yea, that's all. But knowing UPS can charge this customs fee, it would be nice as a consumer to have the choice made clear as to avoid it. Not fun having to pay $x mystery dollars more days/weeks later...

No, just this in the following emails confirming my order: Shipping Method - Standard Delivery

Uh oh, You got me there.... Buried in their FAQ is these:
                              7. Do you ship overseas?
                              Yes, we ship worldwide.
                              8. How long will it take to arrive?
The estimated shipping time is shown in the shopping cart during check out (and before you pay). The shipping time varies depending on were in the world you live.
                              .....
                              13. Shipping information
We can offer worldwide Express deliveries with UPS (including online tracking) as well as the regular post-service with "First Class Air Mail". The "First Class Air Mail" has no online tracking.
                              14. What about customs?
We mark international packages as containing the specific description of your order and state the cost of the item on the customs documentation. Currently, we are not able to describe the contents in any other way. Any customs or import duties are levied once the package reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance will have to be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you may want to contact your local Customs office for further information.
I'll be damned. I didn't click thru 3 more links under Info and read the fine print.

Mmmmkay but I knew that so would have been still nice to avoid it.

Yea you're right. Shame on me for even bringing it up. Nobody but me would be so bothered to get a bill in the mail for more charges due on an order well after the fact.

                              ---

Thanks though sage, at least you were courteous and informative in your opinion with me on this. Sorry for being a dick and smartass but this type of thing just irks the hell out of me. I don't run in here boycotting and bitching about not getting me snus in 8 days instead of 14 but on this issue I feel I have the grounds to bitch and especially publicly point it out so others don't fall into this same dilemma. Not to mention it would be nice for the given (insert company here) to rectify the damn problem since they won't response to my emails.

I'm calling off work now and going fishing...

OK, and here to the crux of the mater at hand. Yes, I absolutely think you DO have an issue. And yes, I would hope you would post about it here.

It is the HOW we are really addressing here, and you have, at least IMHO, thrown a great big temper tantrum over something that I think many of us just don't think is a big deal. So again yes, I understand why, just questioning the how a bit.

And I think fishing now is a very wise idea.
