    from the swedish match website.
Historically, the word Kardus (from the French "cartouche", in German "karduse") has been used in Sweden to mean "pack snus in kardus," that is to package the snus in cardboard

My Getsnus order says backordered. Does that just mean it hasn't shipped yet, or will I have to wait until they get more in? When I placed the order they said it was in stock.

The 2008 was fruity like the best raisins and dates, it was rich and the combination with the alcohol made it taste like the best ever sticky Christmas pudding, only it was a snus. The 2009 is so pale in contrast to that - there's a very faint taste of apples in there and the tobacco comes through like the smell of a freshly opened packet of virginia cigarettes, which is fresh and nice like the smell of new mown hay, but not really enough to justify $50.

Maybe I just got (un)lucky with my first Kardus and it has spoilt me for future offerings.

Sorry if anyone reads this with some in the post and gets worried for their investment - I just hope it's only my personal take on it for your sakes. If it helps (as i haven't been on here in a while) I'm a fussy bastard

Well maybe it's good that I didn't try it last year, I'd hate to be dissapointed because it didn't compare to a better quality previous year version.

    Free money? What's that?

I was one of those smart people with no credit card debt that actually had a rainy day fund to fall back on. Snus is one of my only indulgences.

I have the advantage of not having last years version to compare it to. I also have an interest in snus making and a lamina only longcut snus doesn't come along everyday. It will part of my learning curve.

Mine is coming from GetSnus so I still have a bit of a wait.

Squeezy, do make sure you come back and tell us if anything changes for you over the next week. I can never think what I know about any snus when I first try it. The more time I can play with it, the better.

But thank you for sharing the first impression. I share in lxskllr's situation, so am enjoying the Kardus vicariously.

    Hi lxskllr,

Nice to see someone on here I recognise! Nice new avatar, very classy! Sorry to hear about the money problems, probably no consolation to you to know that it's truly worldwide - anyway I remember your tastes and I don't think you've missed out here at all It makes prima fint seem almost rich.

    Cheers

First off, it's good seein' ya squeezy :^)

That makes me feel a bit better about not getting it this year. Money's too tight to spend on that kind of snus this year, but I would have liked to keep the tradition I started :^D Oh well, maybe next year, eh? :^)

So apparently the Kardus is 100g (vs 24g for a tin of portions, or about 50g for a typical tin of los)....so does anyone know how it comes? Is it one tin of los about twice the size of a regular snus tin, or what?
