that's crazy. but back then tobacco use was more accepted so i think people started doing it alot earlier.

I was wrong. She started when she was 5! She said that they had a maid who helped them reach the snuff on the mantle.

i started smoking when i was 5 years old too. i hardly ever tell it because everyone thinks i am lying for some reason but it's true. there was an older girl around who smoked. she thought it was funny to see me smoke so she gave them to me. i kept on and when i was about 7 i started buying my own. i smoked until i was almost 50 and quit using snus.

when i was about 10 there was this other older girl.... well it don't have anything to do with smoking haha

I wasn't much older than you when I'd first tried cigarettes. I'd grab a used butt, or take one out of my mother's pack starting when I was 6 or 7. I didn't really become a cigarette smoker until I was 15 or 16, though I did smoke a pipe earlier, and dip Skoal.

I started smoking when I was 13 in Catholic school going to high school basketball games followed by my 1st job at 14 working at a hamburger joint. The people at work would dare me to smoke because they didn't believe I did. A bunch of us Catholic kids used to meet in the alley before school, we thought we were so cool back then.

Now I'm 53, an ex-smoker and an atheist. 8)

I was 9 when I first started, was up to a pack a day by the time I was 15.

i never started smoking till i was like 17 or so, was up to a pack a day by 19. never really went passed a pack a day. i was already addicted to nicotine without knowing it, till i was about 17 and began the process of moving away from home, i always felt odd, smoked a cig one day feeling went away. and some people say second hand smoke isnt that bad, i guess if you've been around it for 17 years it becomes addicting lol !
