    Do snus users still smoke?

    Hi,
I'm new to this forum, I usually hang out on snuffhouse.org but I'd like to find out more about Snus. Please excuse my lack of knowledge. Do Snus users still smoke or do they stop when they switch to Snus?

    I still smoke.
    Maybe a pack a week.
That's down from a pack a day before.
I have one on my way to work and whenever else I feel like.
I don't feel like having one though very often. I'd rather snus.

I only smoke very occasionaly now one or two (usually when I've drank a lot) To me I think it's like a ritual that keeps coming back associated with drinking. I'm always back on snus the next day though.

        Hi,
I also still smoke. I was almost at a pack a day. Now I have about 3 cigarettes per day. I smoke more when I'm drinking though. Been too hard to give that part of smoking up (while drinking).

It was my goal to quit smoking and I had failed with every other method. I bought a pack of cigarettes with my first order of authentic snus and that was the last pack I have had since. Over the past several months I have had two cigarettes and both time felt a little sick. There are quite a few posters on this forum that have quit outright besides myself.

That's great to hear. Keep up the good work!
My interest is as a producer and with our nasal snuff we have a 76% success rate compared to patches 17% and nicotine gum 12%.
If we start producing Snus I want to know what success rate to expect.

I quit just after last Christmas when my first order of snus arrived and haven't had a cigarette since.

No desire to either and after more than 10 years as a smoker it was quite an experience to be completely free of smoking...

I still bum a smoke now and again. Sometimes I buy a pack or a cigar if I am going to drink beer and shoot pool.

When I wake up the next morning after gettin drunk and smoking a full pack I cherish my morning snus. I used to have the ussue where if I bought some smokes to take to the bar, I'd have trouble not buying another, and another pack.

Now I smoke if I feel like smoking, not because I need to smoke.

I got my first "real" snus just over 3 weeks ago - stopped smoking on the first "snus day" and haven't looked back.

Not bad for having a 1-2 pack a day habbit for 30 years......

The hardest part for me was the morning smoke(s) - but Lucky Strike is getting me thru

These days, I only smoke if someone else is...and even then I usually don't finish a whole cigarette. I just can't enjoy the taste like I used to, and I feel like shit after. I'm not too broken up about it, though...

Haven't smoked since February... One day my snus showed up in the mail, then all I had to do was finish my last pack, which should have taken about 4 hours, but instead took 4 weeks (1 pack a day habit for 10 years) and haven't bought one since.

Rodericks: That's a great success rate. I very much enjoy snuff. I can't imagine how high the rate would be for COMBINED use of snuff and snus during smoking cessation.

I always thought it would be brilliant if a nasal snuff manufacturer distributed free harm reduction pamphlets to tobacco shops. Optimally, you'd want your product in the store, but simply having your online sales website listed in the pamphlet would be enough. I don't know if this would be legal or cost prohibitive though?

Haven't had a smoke since Dec. 31 2008 thanks to snus. Used to smoke a pack and a half a day.
