Is it a white or red circle like a canker sore, I had a white one of those on my gums for like 2-3 weeks and then it was gone. If it's new I would give it a week or two and then get it checked out.

That's weird, do you snus on the lower lip?
If not it is very rare that it would be connected in any way.

    Mucocele

    Hello guys,

    Happy new year etc.

Had this weird thing on the inside of my lower lip, which I can only describe as a blister but doesn't heal. It's been present for about a month now, and having used snus for around 3 years I'm going to call in the doctors tomorrow and get it checked out.

My pocket-knife doctor seems to suggest it's a "mucocele" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mucous_...he_oral_mucosa), and although I cannot find anything to link this to snus, have any of you guys had one of these before?

Me too. I can for some reason ONLY put it in upper right. Upper left doesn't feel good for some reason.

I would advise new snus users like myself to take care when trying a new spot in the mouth to place snus .......I believe this lead to my minor issue. I tried 'lower left'. Won't do that again....it's upper right for me from now on.

People get an occasional mouth sore that don't even use tobacco.
In my years of use, I never got sores from tobacco, though I think some recession, but it was more likelya combination of factors. I did get a small sore that quickly did go away, on my bottom gum to the back side of my canine, and I think it was dip, just being abraisive/rubbing on that spot. It was very minute and it went away. I have quit dip(I think).

Only been using snus for about 2wks now and for the most part I'm loving it......however, 3 days into it I developed a wicked sore on my gums and opposing area of my cheek. I laid off the snus and alternated between salt water rinses and diluted hydrogen peroxide rinses. I also used a product called Orajel. Orajel is what we use for cuts inside the mouth from playing hockey. This product is awesome and acts as a bandaid for inside the mouth. It seals the sore area and prevents bacterial infection. It also has a numbing agent for the pain. Sore was gone in 2 days.

I have learned over awhile that 100% of any sores I have are from burns and bites from my teeth.

My max placement is roughly 15-30 minutes and after 2-3 years I have still not developed that leathery gum many here talk about.

so I stayed away from tobacco for 4 days now, and it's almost completely gone.

I forgot to mention a bad taste in the morning that I don't usually experience with snus or anything..

There's no sores or anything but it simply hurts and the gum isn't that smooth anymore...

I dunno exactly what canker sores are, but I do know that besides snus, certain foods can cause them as well. With that said, they just seem to be more of a nuisance than a problem. Switch sides or just suck it up and snus on top of the sore(s), they will go away when they are ready.
