    Life on Mars?

I recently found some very interesting sites, with Nasa photos, showing areas of Mars with forests, trees, vegetation, rivers, and lakes.

This one here is good, with some good pics:
    http://mmmgroup.altervista.org/e-trees.html

A google search will find more.

This info, along with the ruins of ancient civilizations there, only shows that Mars is habitable, in some way, and may still be, by intelligent beings, perhaps underground.

    That's insane.

How are there trees on mars? Wouldn't that require some kind of oxygen?

There must be, and there has been found to be methane in the atmosphere, which comes from vegetation.

There are more, but would require some search. The photos in the main post, I don't believe are "fake".

Ah, I saw the link to the original. I'm going with a crystalline formation. I'm not a geologist, and neither are the jokers on that web page. Scientists were pretty excited to find ice with the Mars rover. If it were as easy as seeing "old forests" we would have heard about it by now.

Unfortunately no scientist accurately studied this document, because the "official science" says we cannot find trees there. Stop. But the "martian forest" continue to grow regardless.
            :^D

Yea, ok. We don't need any of that "thinking" or "scientific method", that's for losers. We'll just speculate as to the identity of the images. That's worked out so well for humans in the past. God probably put them there :^D

"The "trees" are really trails of debris caused by landslides as ice melts in Mars's spring. You can even see a cloud of dust, just to the left of centre of the picture, where an avalanche is caught happening."

Chad- your photo posted does not look like the others, so I suspect it's 2 different things. And then there is the methane in the atmosphere, and the water.

And Nasa and the Gov have not always been so forthcoming about things. The whole ET/UFO thing is shrouded in Government secrecy.

IF this was indeed forests, vegetation, lakes, and rivers, which I believe it is, I think our official government would be hesitant to admit it, because that would show a higher possibility/probability of ET life, which they seek to denounce at all times.

I think the photo is either a mockup or rendering of the actual photo posted, or one of the new hi-res ones from HiRISE | High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (http://hirise.lpl.arizona.edu/) which is currently photographing Mars and is the most advanced camera ever sent into space.

The other part....meh. I mean I'm all about coverups, I still doubt 9/11 and the moon landings, but wouldn't you think something huge like trees on Mars would be a big deal? They flipped when they found Ice on the surface, and when that rock crashed here that had traces of life in it, they went nuts and it was all over the news. I think they're okay with announcing "there could have BEEN life", but if they found direct evidence of life, that would be denounced. For example, if in one of these pictures they saw a Martian car driving in the forest, they'd edit out the car, but show the forest.

Well, Nasa has/had the ability to drop the rover in spots that are of high interest, the ancient city, the forests, and lake areas, but what did they do? Dropped it in the middle of a desert. Was this done on purpose? Seems so.

I think it would be all over the news for weeks or months, and NASA would get the funding it wants for further exploration. A large percentage of the country, myself included would welcome new taxes that went directly to NASA to explore a "forested Mars". I'd happily pay 50¢ or $1 per tin of snus to fund that exploration.

I put my money on the Phds that work for NASA than some hacks that put together a web page straight out of 1998 ;^)

Seriously, I think everyone would be okay with it. If they said, "Hey, we found a forest on Mars." or "Hey, this looks like ruins of a city." I'd be like, "Who do I make the check out to?" I mean, that's some big stuff.

I guess I don't understand space coverups. Everyone is looking for life outside of our own species, our own planet, seeking it, really wanting to believe.... I don't get why they would cover it up and not just tell us, "Yep. It's out there." If they could give us what we want!

I agree, "why" is a good question. But there are reasons for such a coverup. Perhaps they have always known, perhaps they have been in contact with Martians, who want this to be kept secret.

Obviously there are some "things" on Mars, be it anomolous structures, or weird "growth", these things should have been looked at, we sent a rover, but they didn't even put it near that stuff. Obviously things like the water beds, which to me, is obvious as to what it is, are not being addressed.

I think most people just don't care, and "we" have been programmed to not look at the man behind the curtain.

Maybe it's all swamp gas, but it is something, and they don't seem outwardly too interested.

This is all very interesting. The question of "Is there intelligent life on Mars". But the real question that perplexes me most is, "Is there intelligent life on earth"?
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

That's a question? If it weren't for a minuscule smart portion of the population, we'd still be using rocks as tools, and desperately trying to keep the fire going so it didn't burn out :^D
