damn, i remember this thread. i was hoping something was going to come out of this!
Well, it might yet. Maybe the Thomas Edison of snus will come along.

I personally want to buy loose and make mini portions (basically I'm a 'mini' person standing all of 5'0" while I'm over 3x the age of a 12 year old my body isn't any bigger, with an accordingly 'mini' mouth regular pouches anywhere along my gum/lip line make me look like I've had a tooth pulled or somebody clobbered me etc.. it has to be minis for me)

I can't possbly be the only person out here who wants/needs minis (even if I were more normally propertioned I'd still want the minis for my efforts to not go nicotine-fiend with my addiction as I have converted from smoking, etc)

so.. you have to keep the 'many portion sizes' in mind.. its why people like the icetool.. they'll want to keep that option as tehy go to DIY

but anyway another idea that came.. which given what I've just said about "let us size them ourselves" I don't quite know how you'd impliment other than maybe a slider along its barrel like the icetool..

      but I also thought:

what about a 'maker' like the injectable empty cigarette tube 'cigarette maker' system?

I can go try to dig up a picture of what I'm talking about (or a kind fellow forum participant who knows what I mean might find one to post?)

you can DIY your own cigarettes with a 'maker' and these empty tubes (not to be confused with rolling or a rolling machine) and they look and are exactly liek a store bought...

if somebody really wanted to patent something way cool.. a similar portion maker would be the way to go I'd think (but then you're back to lots of hassles, having to construct something to mass make them, etc etc)

make 'em plastic, sell them for $2.50 $5.00 the way you can buy a handheld cig maker..and you can make a cigarette like that in 15 seconds or less.. I know.. thats exactly what/how I smoked for years.. Gambler tobacco and tubes and I thought nothing of getting my stuff assembled and making a cig as I went, made up a handful before leaving the house, its incredibly easy and I do believe a 'snus maker' of the same sort could be just as easy to use.

The cig makers also make any length of cigarette, if you buy 100 or kind etc tubes its accommodated.. maybe this is the way to go but with prepackaged maxi, large and mini empty poouches you'd slide on the end after you filled with the tobacco before shooting it in, etc, the same way might work

          Welcome to Snuson whistlrr.

One trick I just taught another woman who had same issues with regulars. Put a regular in much farther back, just how I have always used snus, a little different than most. But my portions start next to my very back tooth. A side benefit of doing it this way is the portion almost completely disappears. Even with your small mouth,, I suspect that you wouldn't notice on yourself.

Try it, it might surprise you. Only caveat is it will make a portion juice more, probably why I use almost elusively whites.

          And welcome.

When I first started using portioned snus, the portion would show through my lips. After a month of use, my mouth "adjusted" to the snus and now regular portions are completely invisible.

                Hi Snusjus,

I second that question, what are those?

They look like the perfect solution.

thank you for the warm welcomes everyone

about just getting used to a bigger snus/further back:

even a snus along the sides has problems for me

they slide, believe it or not even back there you can stlil see them as a lump - (I'm somebody that dental offices invariably try to cram huge devices in my mouth where they just won't go before finally conceding that "yeah I tried to tell you small mouth goes with small person' etc),

then there is also the issue that regular sized snus (which tend to be too strong for me to start with) do tend hit me even stronger back there and we're already talking about a regular sized snus which is often a bit too potent for me depending on the snus itself etc -- and I really am trying to just sustain an existing addiction without making it worse)

and the mini's already have a really nice 'niche' in the direct front (I actually have a nice option of sort of four ways I can 'set it and forget it' in the area between the canine teeth. I've been snusing for just about a month right now, already graduated to loose (just got it today, first thing I did was try to make a home made mini snus so this thread is of great interest to me)

I too wish to know more information on the lovely photo, just what the squares are that are used and how such perfect little consistent snus came out of it.

Also, as a side note you can make your prismaster adjustable to make smaller pris (stealing the idea from 'home made icetools' out of syringes to make them stop popping their stoppers out of the end, I have just now done this simply by inserting a small sewing pin into the prismaster's soft plastic on its slider front so it will stop at a half sized pris - because the plastic is so soft you don't need to heat the needle first or anything)

snusjus, you gotta tell us, please, pretty please? (My mouth actually watered just a wee bit in desirous envy at seeing that)

That's awesome.. Just like rolling a smoke, but rolling a snus, can roll it in any shape or size you want. Love it..

Yeah, PYO(pack your own) appeals to me too. If one could get the portion material in a pack like rolling papers, that would be great. From the vikingsnus link, seems they will stay together without being glued or whatever.

Why not just produce los and portions? I would shoot for making a new portion tool, something near the quality of the IceTool, but more affordable? I wouldn't bother to portion my own snus, if I want portions I buy a few tins for those times where using los is not convenient, practical, or discreet... (work, driving a long distance, movies, shopping, court, dates, meetings, sex with a midget, or on the water etc.). Keep us informed, and if you don't mind divulging information on a few flavors we can expect? If you need anyone to review or trial your product put my name on that list!

The appeal of PYO, I think, is cost savings. Not that snus is expensive anyway, but a can of loose is about twice the weight of portions. If you could PYO 50 portions from a can of loose, that's not a bad idea.

Tom, would that just be mini size? Thanks. Oh, we are discussing portion bags, not the actual container the snus portions are in, which is what it seems you mean.

Just for fun, I sacrificed a tube of neosporin, a can of Ettan los, and the cleanliness of my fingers and made...SQUEEZ-E SNUS:

Unfortunately I had to cut off the entire applicator tip to pack it by hand, if there were more of a tip I could have had a better output. It's light, easy to carry, discreet, may be usable directly as los with a long enough applicator, or could be packaged with self sealing bags for quick portion making.

Maybe I should have applied for patent before posting this. =D

That reminds me of the "Creamy Snuff" which is tobacco cream in a toothpaste like tube.
