I would go with heat seal tea bags and leave it up to the customer to seal them. If you wanted you could sell a kit with a smaller version of something like this included: http://www.amazon.com/SCG-Euro-Seale...ref=pd_sbs_k_2

You could probably find a company to make something along those lines that has a fine heating element that you close the bag into and it heats and auto turns off after a second so the bag seals.

Sell a starter kit and then just cans that come with just the bags for people that bought the starter kit already. Just my thought.

I've no helpful advice, but you can count on me to cheer you on! I really hope you have success. I haven't gotten my order of Toque in yet, but I'm so excited and hear so many great things about your snuff! If you can pull off the snus, I'm sure it'd be wonderful!

This is a great idea! I have a whole thing of Los, and since I discovered that I don't like Los, this would work. Plus you could save money!

I usually make my own portion snus (using heat seal teabags & clothes iron) because I'm a los lover but can't use out in public. Women & los tobacco in my parts = unattractive & manly. I don't know where you could buy in bulk, but I always get mine on ebay. Here's an auction showing what I use:

Any plans for a peanut butter or coke snus? I'd be all over that!

as mentioned - http://www.nmteaco.com/Tea-Pockets_p_142.html - smaller size bags... and a simple injecting device to fill them with loose. the problem would be flicking over the hood on those little suckers. :?

I agree with PP. I see no point to this. If I want a portion I want it now. If I want to use lös I reach for my Icetool.

But then again I am someone who could never be bothered with RYO cigarettes so perhaps I am not the target market

That's not a bad idea - not bad at all!

Now take that folding idea and make it practical to carry as a complete unit.

A small, cheap plastic measuring device.
A pack of pre-cut teabag papers.

Now take a can similar to a N&J east/west style.
The front would have a portion "ashtray" as usual.
The back of the can would have a thinner, flatter compartment to hold the flat of "papers".
The measuring tool would be tubular and slide into a hole/ holder that runs down the side of the can.

                          How to use:

Take the tool out of the holder down the side of the can.
Open the lid and load the los tobacco into the tool.
Close the lid, flip the can over, and grab a portion paper.
Lay the paper flat on the can.
Empty the tool into the center of the paper.
Snap the tool back into the can's holder.
Fold the pris into a portion as shown in the video above.
                          Pop in and enjoy!

There would still be much more los tobacco in the can than the usual 20-24 portion can, even with the extra paper storage in the back because there would be no wasted air space in the can, and the papers would lay flat in the back. I'd guess around maybe 32 grams of los with papers to match.

OK, if anyone uses this idea, I hereby claim the copyright for it's use.

For me it comes down to cost. los is much cheaper than portions.

I sometimes pre-pack 3-4 loose "portions" for the day in an empty tin.

these self-made portions are bigger and last longer than regular portions

I was just thinking that if you made a self sealing bag you could use a prismaster or icetool to fill the bag. Would be quite simple and very little mess. Not a bad idea in my mind as there are times I would like a bigger portion then what they make.

As for how it will sell I think it will be hit or miss. It's hard to say if many people will really want to go through the trouble and price could make a huge difference. If it did come out though I would give it a shot. Hope you find an answer. Good luck

Has anyone ordered this kit yet?

I don't think I would want to make my own snus but I wouldn't mind just getting the paper.
