Hmpf. You make me want to save my moneyOriginally posted by justintemplerHmmm... dehydrated snus you say?
I guess if you're the type of person that thinks Taster's Choice Instant Coffee tastes as good as fresh brewed coffee then SnusX is for you.
Darn right. I need a hardware compressor for better recording joy.
Maybe on down the line, though.

It is a los version, you just don't use the portions.
I mean it opens up the possibility of experimenting with all kinds of favorite flavors. Instead of using water, try adding coffee or coffee with creamer. How about adding a little extract of whatever. Maybe liquor? Regular portions you add too much of something it'll just sop it down and make it well too runny and get a watered down taste. This way you'll INFUSE it with flavor!
But tobacco on a sheet, pinch of salt and set oven to broil. Its already dehydrated but now its toasted! How close to lucky strike can you get?

If it's still available the next time I order I'll seriously consider this. I'd probably take them out a 24 at a time and hydrate that way. I've got plenty of snus for a couple of months now though.

I'm not entirely sure why they're calling it "make your own snus," when all you're doing is adding watter; it is kind of a neat concept though and certainly can't wait to here some reviews. If the pact act passes, it might be worth picking up a few of these as obviously tubs of this would take up much less freezer space and yield more.

Re: SnusX
I can see SnusX being popular in countries like NorwayOriginally posted by chadizzy1...One package contains 240 grams - approx. 460-480 portions (equivalent to about 20 cans)
....

What is the value limit for sending a gift to Norway without having to pay a tariff?
Tobacco
a) 200 cigarettes or 250 g of other tobacco products and
b) 200 leaves of cigarette paper
The minimum age for importing tobacco products is 18 years.

in normal snus the weight of the water counts toward the 1g total weight of the portion...Originally posted by snusjus240 grams would equal 240 portions, if each portion is one gram each...
Perhaps the portions contain less tobacco than the standard 1g portion?
i think.

Right. Most snus has @ 50% water content. In countries that tax by weight, I can see this as being a huge advantage.Originally posted by MrAbstractoin normal snus the weight of the water counts toward the 1g total weight of the portion...Originally posted by snusjus240 grams would equal 240 portions, if each portion is one gram each...

I can definitely see me trying this. The storage possibilities.....

I agree with the idea of this to the Nth degree but nobody has yet to speak for the quality of tobacco. That's everything, in my opinion. I sincerely hope it's good.
I'm an addict so naturally I'll buy it once. I'm curious to learn the salt content, nic feel, mouth feel, etc, etc. I like the fact that you can control the moisture content. I have to say that I sometimes adjust the moisture level (up and down) of a factory produced snus with fine results. So we'll see.
