Not that they'll ever read this, but I'd like to take this moment to commend Swedish Match for starting the Phase III trials on general snus. Maybe someday that'll mean I can buy good snus at the local tobacconist.

Ugh, this was made by the guy from my state. Same dork-smack that helped create video-game company report cards if I'm not mistaken.

          seriously wtf

hopefully they'll be too busy doing useful things that they won't get to this bill.

dude... did you not read the rest of the thread before you posted that? I wasn't expecting a "rush" to the petition, I was actually quite happy with the fact that it got 9 signatures as of this morning, pretty good run for a tobacco petition in 24hrs.

I believe I was the one that was "jumped on" for attempting to help here.

There are 2 people on this thread that have been truly decent about it, sundog and sagedil. Aside from that I've received some substantial hostility here.

As far as who's been registered longer there's only one person that's taken part in this thread that's been here for more than a year, other than that, it's 9 months or less, so it's irrelevant.

Couldn't those of you that feel the need to give me shit for this have better spent your time writing a letter to your reps? Seriously.

Can we kindly continue this on a less hostile note here?

I signed and sent the creator of the bill (my senator) feedback through his online form.

I also made a post on my World of Warcraft guild's message board to get some of those guys going too.

Signed, but not sure if it worked. I was taken back to the error page that I had already fixed. If you don't have a signature from Seattle I'll sign again. Thanks.

                            I guess I'll put in my 0.02..
It's not that we don't appreciate your concern, it's just that we've seen this come up time and again. Because you've just joined you weren't around for the mayhem from the last bill that PASSED handily despite various members fruitless efforts to stop it. I won't go into detail, because I'm not one to stir the shit kettle, but the issue is out of our hands as far as I'm concerned. We gave up our right to a fair legislative process as soon as we, the people, elected a democratic majority in congress. They are going to pass whatever they can, as long as it keeps them in office. I believe half of them don't even read what they vote for, and some of them conveniently adjourn to the toilet when it comes time to vote. They will be in for a rude awakening come next election. If you've been around long enough, you'll have noticed that each election the pendulum swings once the people get fed up with the legislature. I believe I was happier with a republican majority, who voted down the previous FDA bill for almost a decade, but that doesn't mean the repubs didn't make some bad decisions. If I wasn't worried about my freedoms being taken away, I was worrying about something else like a piss ant excuse for a president. Each political party has it's skeletons in the closet per se, which is why I'm against affiliating with any party, I only share in a select few values of both the Democratic and Republican party which puts me in between.

Anyway, I signed the petition, good luck and thanks for making an effort.
                            P.S. WELCOME TO SNUSON!

I don't like either party, but on most issues I like the Repubs most, but ideally, I like Libertarian most. I think Obama got in cuz he's younger and hip. But I would think, if they we knowledgeable, the youth, instead of being led by MTV and voting on hipster cool, would vote for freedom, and the Libertarian party would get more attention.

                                Hmmm

Democratic or Republican this is just more proof that Big Business bought and paid for the government in the '60s and '70s. The American people are just a medium, like oil in a motor, to keep things going.
