Two Thumbs down for The Northerner

They now sell American dip!!!??? Good for them! I guess it will help increase their profits. Just bad for people like me who have tried convincing so many that snus is different from dip. I know many of you use dip and that's fine and all, just seems that Northerner sold out. My very humble opinion.

It doesn't bother me. It gives the Euros easier access to American brands, and I'll keep buying snus :^)

Ok, I found it on google. Dip is not snus at all. I tried dip at a trip to Florida in 2007 and I can say for sure that I dont like the dip.

No problem here. I want them to do anything they can to make reasonable profits and keep their business model running. If american dip sells good and helps them with that, it will translate to Snus prices staying where they are instead of going up...or at least going up slower.

Good point desirexe, we thought about that for a long time if we really should add dipp. But there are many Europeans that like American dipp. We just would like to offer the possibility for them to try, maybe we are choosing a wrong path, time will tell and you will be the judges of that.

              Sincerely,

              Frank

I have no problem with Northerner trying to expand their business. I don't use dip anymore, but some people do, why not offer them a chance to get all their tobacco needs met in one place?

I'm sure a lot of folks on that side of the pond will be as excited to try Copenhagen as I was when I cracked my first can of General. I think it's great that they offer a bigger selection across the board. I'll likely sneak a can of skoal in my orders every once in a while

I tried Copenhagen and Skoal. I think that the portions are to big, and I did not like the sweet taste that dip has.

Perhaps it was the sweet flavours I tried - but I dont think I'll try again. I'll stick to the Swedish snus.

Well considering Northener didn't start out to market snus specifically, it was all things Swedish including dahla horses and reindeer house slippers. They found their success introducing a unique tobacco product to an untapped market.

If Europeans want American dip and it's safer then smoking I can't fault Northener for trying to duplicate what they do best, introducing a unique tobacco product to an untapped market.

I see no problem with it, as long as it's allowed to be imported in without restrictions. I think it's good to see markets opening up and introduction of new products. Granted, I like snus a lot more than any American dip, I still like the option of buying it opening up.

I'm hoping that with the sale of American products, America won't put restrictions on the snus I prefer. I enjoy using snus and I don't want the U.S. to go the way of Europe and restrict importation. More power to the Northerner
