Bit of a brucey that one! They normally just write snus on the customs declairation, always have with stuff I have ordered from the US warehouse, oh well.

I've ordered from them twice in the past, and once more through a friend, we always received our order within a week or two. I had placed this order over 3 weeks ago and because I also went part way with a friend on the order, I couldn't continue to wait. I contacted my bank, had the charge reversed sent them a message to cancel the order. Who knows if they will actually do anything about it or not, for all their incompetence, it wouldn't surprise me if the order shipped anyways.

    Never again.

My first, and probably last order was placed last year on December the 4th. Some of my items were not in stock and so I sent them a ticket. They replied fast! Within a day I think, and acnkowledged my problem and told me what was out of stock. Turns out most of the items I had ordered werent in stock. So I asked for my order to be canceled, they didnt reply. I sent them 5 more tickets and then they replied, asked me weather I wanted my money into my account or as store credit. I replied with back into my account. They didnt reply after another 5 of 6 tickets. Then on the 2nd of January, they sent my order out. Even though, after nearly a month of telling them to cancel it and being ignored they sent it out.

I was peeved but relieved at the same time, any snus is good right? But I was not pleased with the service at all. The parcel arrived today, 15 days it took in total. Though the items were packaged nicely and were all fresh/in date. They even shipped out the swedish match products which they said they dont offer to customers in the EU any more. What a pleasant surprise that was.

My orders with them back in early 2012 were flawless. Speedy customer support and great shipping.

My last order I placed with them during Christmas 2012 and it's like a totally different company. They took days to reply to my questions, even sold me something that they didn't have in stock! They finally got my items and shipped it out 2 weeks after the order was placed. So for obvious reasons I am hesitant to use Northerner again.

The postage stamp on the packages for Swedish post is for returns, if you read it it says if undelivered return to the address in sweden, there is nothing suggesting it has come from sweden first. Also I don't think it is a good idea putting this all on a public forum for the watchers to see so they can squeal to the EU and try and shut down one of the last remaining sources of snus we in the EU have.

Yep! I can't believe they're still at it. I've still got loads of spoilt snus I will never use but can't bear to throw away knowing how much it cost me from my last EVER encounter with Northerner. We might live in the EU where getting the snus is hard - but I don't think that means we should be taken for mugs.

You can get stuff from ***** quickly and hassle free and ******** are getting good reviews on their service ... unfortunately with both there is a much more limited range but it's better than nothing at all.

I don't think Northerner are worth bothering with at all any more - they don't seem to care.

    Cheers

    Hi all,

I stumbled upon this thread after googling about the situation at Northerner. I also live in England and ordered a load of jakobssons at the beginning of November. I've ordered from Northerner a bunch of times over the past three years, and every shipment has arrived within a week, but this one took ridiculously long. After about a month of waiting I'd actually completely forgotten about it, but when I remembered I went back to my account page and saw that my order was still pending, so I wrote them a ticket. I recieved no reply, however after another week or so I noticed that the status had changed to 'shipped'. I recieved no communication however.

A package finally arrived just before christmas. Everything was inside, but it had taken around 7 weeks. Strangely it had originated from both Sweden and the USA, which is what you're alluding to. Why would they be doing that?

I assumed that it might have been due to a honest mistake in their website processing system or something. Yesterday I ordered another bunch of cans, and I'm kind of wishing I hadn't bothered now. I was hoping that I would've recieved an email today to say that my order had shipped, but I won't hold my breath. The whole situation with Northerner seems very bizarre.

Are there any other trustworthy sites that ship to the UK?

To be honest, you never where you are with Northerner. They keep changing what they can and can't send mroe of ten than they change their socks. They've now stopped shipping SM snus to the EU from US warehouse. Managed to get an order of Ettan in before they changed the rules again, fingers crossed it turns up now.

I think the Swedish Marlboro snus is not available for sale in North America due to licensing of the Marlboro name in different territories. That's probably what's happened in this case.

Although it would have been nice if they had told you that.

The question should have been "how many times has that happened to you?" The last time it happened to me I waited 28 days for my 7 can order. When it arrived 28 days later it was only 6 cans and four were out of date. I am still waiting on a replacement. I wrote them 3-4 days ago and still waiting on a reply. I am not sitting around waiting on the snus to arrive but I plan to never forget about it either. One day they will get tired of me and send it.

or am i just demanding too much? they say (in the form of copy/paste) that when the order is shipped, they won't take any more responsibility. but then again, shouldn't they answer my simple questions like 'does this happen often?', 'is there any more you can tell me as for what to expect and so on?', 'has this happened a lot recently to other customers?' and 'is there ANY possibility that this is all due to some of the major technical problems you had during the beginning of october?'

i feel like i should just forget the whole thing and accept my lost money, and try to get most people possible to boycott this shop that obviously shits on their customers.. :/
I managed to get them to reply to me one time by asking them serious (like) if they went out of business. I guess that got under their skin. The best way to get a reply out of most sites is to be nice. Although that don't always work and my next step is irritation. Yelling and name calling hardly ever works anywhere. Rants piss me off and most people just ignore that stuff. Fussing works on the phone but in emails and tickets employees just ignore you. In your case I would 1,2,3 whats happened to you. 1. such and such date I ordered x number of cans. 2. such and such date I got an email saying blaa blaa blaa. and note everything that's happened or not happened. the final point would say something like I would really like my snus but can't afford to throw my money away. Please respond by (maybe a week later). If i've not heard from you I will have to go to my bank and do a charge back.

See here's the deal. Merchants (in the credit card sense of the word) do NOT like charge backs. Charge backs make their fees go up and if they get too many they could lose their merchant account. At the very least enough charge backs cause the merchants cost of doing business to increase. I know because I have two merchant accounts and charge backs are treated very seriously.

With that said, to be taken seriously you must be able to show that you was cooperative and that you document well. The merchant can take issue with your charge back and if they can show certain things you will lose and not get your money back. Take my word, banks will roll their eyes if a person does a charge back and the merchant shows documentation that makes the person look like a jerk. I am on the other side of charge backs as I am fighting to have people's charge backs nulled. I like it when someone does a charge back and has already flew off and cussed me out with threats and the only documentation they supply is "they cheated me".

merchants know when to take someone serious if they have presented their case in emails/tickets in a formal manner with docs.

The guy that tries to work things out, is nice but professional with communications and has documentation is pretty much impossible to beat on a charge back.
Just trying to be helpful. Free advice is normally worth what you paid haha.
