Hey Rick, I went up to Stinson's Market in Hanover, NH. They had a pretty limited selection...I asked the girl about getting in Jakobsson's Flader, and she said that she couldn't. I wonder why that is? Theoretically, can't they get in anything from the Northerner U.S. warehouse? I would think that the new Jakobsson's Melon would sell very well...if I could that there, I'd be very happy.
Sidenote, it's good to hear that everything is getting worked out. I'd like to support Northerner with my next order.
Resnor....hey brother, Stinson's may order everything through their corporate office. This is typical of chain stores. They buy everything through the corp office and then distribute everything to the rest of their shops internally. I'll do some checking and see what I can find out for you.
Wow Thanks for telling us the truth rick.... or a damn good lie. :P Your statement saying what actually is going on, instead of keeping me/us in the dark about it has made me very happy.(i wish more companies would do this)
It sorta made up for the delay and the acid reflux copenhagen has been giving me lol.
Thanks again, I'll be making plenty more orders from the behemoth in days to come.
You stated that the last 5 shipments have been sitting in a UPS bonded warehouse... Northerner has been out of stock on may items for well over a month or more...
When Northerner does get the stock that has been sitting in that warehouse will they be shipping out the old or near date snus first thats been getting old in that warehouse?
My concern is that if I place an order I will be getting mostly old or near date snus that they want to get rid of first instead of the fresher snus...
Fair question, but most of this order goes directly to our distributror. We already have other shipments in route, they should hit the bonded warehouse the same time that these shipments will leave it. Besides, these "held" shipments should be well within the "best buy" dates.

Thanks for the post and the very thorough explanation..................I bet the past few weeks have absolutely sucked for you guys.
Anyway...............I hope brighter days are in front of us all.
Oh ……….and Rick…………..I wonder if you guys could inform the B&M shops that buy from you that they can make special orders for folks (if indeed they can). In fact I would think that the special orders would be kind of like your season ticket holders……………and the can by can sales would be sales at the ticket window.

Yes, Boda buys from our distributor. One thing you need to remember is that while their selection might be sporadic, I'm betting it's because their sales are sporadic too. They will stock what they sell, and if they don't carry a brand or style.....ask them to do so. If I'm a retailer and my customers ask me for a specific product enough times...I'll be more inclined to carry it ;-)
Thanks for the update Rick, and for you guys buying at a B&M, you should talk to them about special orders. Buy a whole roll, and I'm sure they'd throw anything you'd like on their next order. I used to do that with rolling tobacco. You get what you want, and they're guaranteed to have it when you get there. No driving for a half hour, only to find they're out of what you want.
Good news on the short term but this part troubles me. Like I told you in my PM, the local store's selection is sporadic at best. While they do carry Jakobsson and Thunder, I never know if they will have the ones I like. Do you deal with Boda Pipe in SC or does someone else do it? They need to carry the Classic in Jakobsson. My regular rotation is Classic, Wintergreen, Mint, and Thunder Frosted.

We are the David, fighting everyday against the Goliath's in the US...and we do it to provide the US market with a variety of snus brands, so that when they stop (and they will) internet sales of tobacco...we won't be stuck with just General brands.

LOL...nope, neither. Our dog went into labor today and I helped her deliver two BIG pups and I've been preoccupied with them tonight, lol. Okay, here's the lowdown:
As everyone knows, we have to import our snus into the US and when done legally, it has to go through a bonded warehouse and must clear customs, FDA etc. Our last 5 shipments have been sitting in a UPS bonded warehouse in Philly for three weeks waiting for the bonding company to issue us a new continuous bond. Normally, we purchase a single entry bond and the shipments clear pretty quickly...and no problems. However, our shipments have been getting larger and larger, especially now that the distribution is really growing. Due to the size of our last several shipments, the bonding company refused to issue single entry bonds, and required us to buy a continuous bond. The problem is that they didn't tell us until the snus had been sitting there for a week and our warehouse was out of snus. Once we finally found out what the hell the problem was and where they were holding our snus, I was able to get all the paperwork handled.
The bond has been issued, and our product should be released tomorrow and the warehouse FULLY stocked by Thursday or Friday...barring any FDA shenanigans, which I don't expect. I hate that we have to jump through these hoops and our competitors don't, but that's the price we pay so that we can be in the game for the long haul. I know that many of your are very frustrated with Northerner....well, guess what, we're frustrated too, because all we are trying to do is be completely above board and do everything by the book. I know it seems that we're slipping a bit, and I'll agree that we've dropped the ball on certain issues, but we want nothing more than to continue growing and working towards getting better in every area. We have many irons in the fire, many (most) I cannot discuss, but when things break...all will become clearer for our snus community bretheren.
I've heard many comments about "the behemoth Northerner" or "greedy corporation"...nothing could be further from the truth guys...we're a small freaking company, lol. I always laugh when I read something like this. Sure, Frank is very industrious and he's in business to make money..who isn't? We are the David, fighting everyday against the Goliath's in the US...and we do it to provide the US market with a variety of snus brands, so that when they stop (and they will) internet sales of tobacco...we won't be stuck with just General brands.
I want to apologize for the company and the product shortage...but sometimes things like this happen that are out of our control. The sad part is that our customers end up suffering. Regardless, I need everyone to know that we're working on some programs that we'll implement to make it up to you...our clients. Because without you guys/gals...we're nothing, and Frank and I above all...know this. I will personally do what I can to help each and every person that has a problem, so come to me and let me know if you don't get a response from our customer service reps. Even though we don't own SnusOn, and we don't by the way, you all feel like family to us. We always want to ensure that you guys are taken care of properly.
So I placed my order with Mr. Snuff on Wednesday and based on alot of praise I've heard, I ordered the F&T High Dry Toast which was listed as in stock...
