Ok, so I placed my first order with SC. They promptly shipped it today which is quicker than The Northerner. Now, I know it is coming straight from Sweden and it will be going through customs. UPS has it listed as "Submitted with Clearing Agency". That would be customs correct?

Yeah, it will go through this every time, no need to worry, it will be approved and cleared...I have ordered from them a few times and no problems so far (with customs that is). This includes orders of snus that should not be sold to US (i.e. skruf), which have made it safely. Usually takes 3 business days for me to get my packages from them, roughly the same time from northerner.

My last order only took one day from Sweden to NJ, I was shocked. Ordered late Monday night. box was at my door by 1pm Wednesday afternoon. Never even looked at the tracking.

Oh yea...

They mistakenly sent me 4 of the wrong cans(This was a large order around 140 cans). I emailed them, and they apologized and thanked me for pointing this out because there was apparently a problem with the manufacturer changing their codes or something(I am not quoting here, you get the idea). They shipped out 5 of the correct cans, which also arrived in one day(that Friday).

Their customer service is top-notch, above and beyond. Even with other questions I have had, they reply back within the hour, and are always friendly and helpful.

So I got my package today from SC and whoa man...shipping even all the way from Sweden was ultra-fast! I ordered Friday morning around 10am their time and by that afternoon it was well on its way here. Monday morning and by 10am UPS is here dropping it off for me. I will be doing lots of business with them in the future and to anyone thinking about ordering with SC, do it!

Premium Snus has best shipping prices from Sweden right now along with lowest prices. Also MaKe WeBo, so I assume BS, SC and they are all shipping from the same warehouse and will have the same delivery times. 5 Rolls ordered late Friday - 31.75 per roll N&J, UPS Express shipping only $20. If I had ordered 6 rolls instead of 5, it would have been about $1 cheaper with SC and 10% first order discount, so I went with Premium Snus this time. Roll prices at BuySnus recently went up to $38+, not sure how Snus Central and Premium Snus can have their prices that much lower than the main company, but for now they are substantially lower.

What's up with that?

Yeah i've been looking at ordering from them now for a while... with the past SC experiences I've had along with cheaper prices/shipping, it looks like I will be ordering from Premium Snus from now on. Also have yet to hear anything bad about them as well.

If Northerner has what I want and its a tad more expensive I always pay the lil xtra cost just in case. Makes a lot of sense to me.

Not being a jerk, trying to start a fight, or saying one store is better than the other, I just don't understand your logic there PP.

Say you go to one car lot (Northerner Auto Sales) and they have the car you want for $35,000 plus a sales tax of $6,000.

But then CarsCentral has the same exact car for $30,000 and no tax. The catch is that just *maybe* one day the feds will make you pay the tax owed.

I don't know about you, but I'd enjoy the savings and hope I never had to pay. And if I did, so what? I would have had to pay it anyway if I bought from the other place, at least this way it's MUCH more unlikely that I'll never have to pay. I'd rather keep playing the odds, seeing as I've been ordering snus over the internet from Sweden damn near every other week for the last five years and haven't been billed cent one in tax.

DISCLAIMER: just like every single American who has ever purchased anything online or in another state, I pay all federal and state taxes owed on said purchase. So should you.

I have many suppliers of all types that I do business with. If I deal with someone I know for years and I get excellent service and the price is the same or maybe a tad more I don't mind helping out my friends. They always do the best they legally can for me. For the most part the outfits that I deal with have the best price tho. AND I get a ton of referrals from them and most of the time they go far out of their way to help me out. When I ran out of coffe/vanilla I talked to Partik at V2. Two weeks later Frank had a limited edition C/V at northerner. Northerner isn't giving me any referrals but one day you will see your favorite snus in your local tobacco shop etc. And that will be because of northerners hard work and support from its customers. Also, any future promotions here like the VIP will be sponsored by northerner. They are the outfit actually trying to help us out here with the site and in getting snus into the stores. Because of that I they are my friends and I favor them above all others.

PACT has been in force for only a short while. If, and I really mean IF we end up getting a tax bill for tobacco sales it would be this year and no previous years. Actually we would most likely have already gotten it with our income tax papers. So it probably won't be collected this year.......but we still don't know that yet. So yea I've been buying snus for a long time also but therotically we wouldn't have been taxed untill this past year.

It boils down to this. Buysnus and northerner are just about the same price after you go thru checkout, with all shipping, taxes and such. Buysnus is making a killing on their shipping and northerner is making a lot less profit to keep our business and pay our taxes. Makes sense to me to buy from the outfit that is trying to be legit then I don't even have to think about the taxes.

I can understand the normal thinking of get it as cheap as you can and I agree if I'm buying something and I don't know any suppliers. Hell yea save the $ but with snus I want to remain as faithfull as I can to northerner because of what they do for us. Its too bad that they don't have all the brands available to us tho as sometimes you have to go out of the box to try some of the newer snus thats available.

Well, it makes sense to support the shop you're loyal to. I don't fault you there one bit. What threw me was that you were originally saying that you don't mind paying more at the Northerner in order to have the added perk of paying taxes on top of it.

the short answer
For personal reasons I only price check between buysnus and northerner. For the most part I only buy from buysnus what I can't get from northerner. All that was already explained.

the long answer
As always, it depends upon what deals/promotions each has and how much you buy. I've been buying major quanities the last few months. The snus I've needed was pretty much the same price at each supplier. I know the prices have changed several times in the past 6 weeks. I haven't bought any for 2 1/2 weeks so the prices could have changed in one supplier over the other. You are in Illinois also so the taxs are the same for me. What gets me is that when northerner had all the Jaks promotions a few weeks ago the same snus was just about the same price per tin at buysnus. So far for me it has been pretty much the same price. The next order might be different. But that won't be for a while, I got a good stock up before the prices went crazy.

Tho, I will go where I have to if I'm going to save $20 or more on product, shipping and tax.

That 10% discount at SC is only good one time.

Well, it makes sense to support the shop you're loyal to. I don't fault you there one bit. What threw me was that you were originally saying that you don't mind paying more at the Northerner in order to have the added perk of paying taxes on top of it.

It still might make sense to buy from Northerner, even if paying a little more. Northerner is here in the USA, and they're the only snus in the USA outside of a half-hearted attempt by Swedish Match to distribute the full line of General Wintergreen :^D By giving my money to Northerner, I'm investing in snus in the USA. That'll go a lot farther than shares of RJR ever will.

That's all beside the point for me at this time. I don't have the money for snus, and couldn't afford it if it were shipping, and tax free. If I managed to scrape together a couple of dollars, I'd have to go with the absolute cheapest, regardless of personal philosophy. I have no idea who that is at this time, but it pays to shop around if you're trying to save every penny.

Anyway, the point is there's more to the equation than only money. America's gone to hell due to the $>* philosophy. We've lost our manufacturing, and we're losing our innovation, and our freedom. The end game needs to be considered, or you'll find yourself in a corner wondering what happened.

Since my state taxes are pretty low..........my Northerner bill is never drastically effected. Thus I get a closer one on one comparison.

I have run several mock orders (two rolls or such) and Snuscentral and Buy snus have yet to be the cheapest.

What gets me is why it cost so much more at SC to ship the same product to the same place using the same carrier.

I have asked this before and have never received an answer.

Thus to me it leaves me with the feeling of being taken advantage of (of being charged more for something than necessary)

So I tend to agree here with PP..................seems one store is trying to help while a few others are jacking the price in a time when we are already being screwed enough.

Maybe this is not the case....................but it is not hard to think this way

This whole thing with excessive shipping charges reminds me of an acquaintance who sells baseball cards on eBay. He sells the cards real cheap but charges a flat $5 to mail even 1 card.

When questioned, his answer is, "Hey, it's not my fault if people are stupid enough to pay that. And, anyway, I make most of my profit on shipping."

I will say, though, that if someone buys a whole box of cards or a collection, his shipping rates are more in line with what he actually pays.

He also notes that "there are more ways than one to skin a cat". !?!


Not saying that's the case here but it is not beyond the scope of possibilities.
