Skruf Stark original portions always look like that too. You can see a pattern on the top one from the conveyor belt it fell off of too.

I just fluff mine up until I like it, so it doesn't make much difference to me. Of course, I do think it looks nicer in the can.

I guess how the portions look in the tin just doesn't excite me like you guys. :P As long as they're all there, and aren't bad or ripped open, I'm happy. The star pattern isn't much of a star pattern once you use three or four portions out of the tin, anyway.

I think its cool but it doesn't go much further than that because I roll it between my fingers to even it out anyway. Looks nice when you first open it though.

I prefer General BECAUSE of the star pattern. (well, the taste too) It fits exactly. It keeps the flavor longer - maybe because it's denser. I can feel it hit the upper limit of my mouth and stay there. No wandering.

I actually put a folded business card in the can to hold them in place as I use portions. That way even the last few are nice and hard :-)

General White, Sterk, and Onyx. Nothing else. Though I just got the urge to see if I can force the wedge on some other brand. Hmmm....
