New snus user with a newbie question

I've gotten used to putting it in the upper lip. Right now I'm obsessed with making sure the portion is completely on the gums and no part of it is touching my upper teeth. Is that fine or is it normal to have it touching the teeth?

Also, I take the snus out when it gets overly salty. Does everyone do that?

I do the same thing only because I like it to be invisible.

You generally get used to the saltiness. As for shoving it up to gums only, yeah, I do the same thing. It keeps it hidden (which I really don't care about, though) and gives you more of the nicotine with it crammed up tight against the top of your lip.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with the saltiness. I was just concerned that when it gets salty its worse for the teeth, gums and/or stomach/pancreas and by that time the nicotine is mostly used up so no sense in keeping it in.

i think when it gets salty is the best time, that's when the flavor is really kickin...and with snus portions, they can really go anywhere in your mouth, just so they're comfortable

thehustler, let me take some of the stress out of this for you. There is no "right" way to do any of this. There may be "typical", but that is really it. Personally, I shove the snus way back further than most folks, just what has always been comfortable for me. My snus is usually touching my teeth with no ill effects.

The salt won't affect your teeth. In fact, my teeth have been better since I started using snus. My guess is the change in alkalinity makes it harder for the bacteria to grow?

There is no right or wrong time to remove a snus. As I have posted earlier, sometimes I take it out after 15 minutes, sometimes it is in for 2 hours or longer and everything in between.

And within a month, you won't take it out because of the salt cause you just won't normally realize how much salt is there. the body gets acclimated to it and soon, you won't much even notice any salt.
