    Offroad long cut.

Well my free sample of this new product came today so here is my impression. First thing, plastic can, I don't like it as much as the regular offroad can. So, I open up the regular flavor, and, huh, it doesn't really smell like snus. Alright, the texture. It is REALLY long, like an American long cut, maybe even longer. Because of the length, it doesn't bake for shit. Maybe with an icetool or prismaster, but by hand it doesn't do much. I just used the "hillbilly method" and threw a mouthful in.
It's actually quite good, about as pure a tobacco flavor as I've ever had. It taste kind of like how the inside of a humidor smells. It doesn't have that strange fake taste that American dip does. This would be a great candidate for lower lip if that appeals to anyone. I'm actually quite impressed, it is a completely different taste than regular offroad loose, and I'm looking forward to trying the Wintergreen variant. I would like to know what everyone else who has this stuff coming thinks of it.

I got mine today too. Haven't tried it yet, but I opened up the can of regular and it has a nice smell to it. The texture makes me thing that it would be a difficult snus to use in the traditional, upper lip manner. When I take my shower later tonight, I'll bottom lip some so I'll be able to spit without inconvenience. I'll try the upper lip if I'm feeling daring, but I'm scared of the tobacco avalanche.

I also got a buysnus.com pen. Did anybody else get a pen?

Looking forward to trying this... I suspect it might be a lot like Kardus, if more every-day sort of stuff.

Not snus, sorry. It's upper-lip dip, just not fermented.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on this one. Kind of a shame when you think of what it could've been. But still for $2.60 a can, it's pretty damn good. Much less like Kardus than I was hoping for, but non-fermented dip is pretty spot on. Again, I can't say the stuff is bad, in fact, I quite like it. But, it just isn't exactly what I was expecting.
Oh, and to Soft Morning City: yes, I did get the pen. A nice little surprise in with the snus.

Well, I tried the original and I really dug the flavor, but I don't like the cut of it too much. If I were dipping, I'd definitely switch over to this stuff though. I think this stuff would be immensely popular among the dippers of America. I was thinking to myself as I sampled it that this could be a foot in the door for the Swedish to market their stuff in America on a bigger scale.

However, I have a question for you guys who've tried the other Offroad. Does the traditional Offroad Original taste the same as the long cut? Because if it does, I'm definitely going to have to order some cans of it with my next shipment. I like the taste a lot.

They taste nothing alike. You wouldn't even know they were made by the same company. Offroad original is not really a tobacco flavored snus, it is quite sweet. I think someone on here once compared the flavor of it to a urinal puck
But, I like the stuff, it's one of my favorites in fact. It just doesn't taste like the LC.

Offroad original is rank. Imagine Göteborgs Rapé... but the flavour was like, well - you know when you can buy concentrated juice-syrup, and you have to dilute it about 10:1 with water to make juice - Offroad is like they took a concentrated Göteborgs taste but forgot to add the water and used sugar instead. You could make ten tins of snus with the oversaturated taste of one can of Offroad. Blech!

^ And there you have the gist of what everyone thinks of Offroad. Either they like it quite a lot, or they absolutely hate it. I guess I would just say order a can the next time you have room left in your postage weight or something. Don't go out of your way to try it, but it is worth trying.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Eh, I think I'll pass on it for the time being. This is very disappointing.

Now there has to be some sort of petition to make Offroad also release the long cut Original flavor in a traditional snus texture. Were they to do this, I would be a very, very happy man.

I wonder if you could grind it down to your desired texture with a medicine grinder or similar apparatus? This might be a lot of work, but it could be a labor of love!

I'd guess whatever is being ground needs to be dry otherwise it would clog up the works, eh?

And BTW, I love Offroad Original.
