PMD- If the General and Grov is loose and you decide you don't like them, I can trade you for Ettan loose. I like all three and remember suggesting General and Grov to you.

Another one you might like that is not salty would be Skruf Stark Loose.

    SnusOn!

You should try Knox . In my personal opinion, it has a somewhat similar taste to Ettan. That pure tobacco taste. And not much saltiness from my experience with it. If you're diggin the loose, Knox comes in both portion and loose. Can't comment on the loose as I've only had the portions. I didn't notice the traditional bergamot taste in the Knox, just the tobacco taste.

My first snus , some 2 - 3 weeks ago now , was General original , white , and wintergreen . All portions . I picked them up at the local tabacco shop because I was growing impatient waiting for my first order to arrive . I thought the original was really salty . That being a portion , I cant imagine how salty it must seem in los when just starting out  . That said , the wintergreen was not nearly as salty , not very wintergreenie ( is that a word? ) either . I mean dont be expecting Kodiak flavor . Now that I am three weeks in , I tried the Original portion again tonight , and Sage was right , once again . The overly salty flavor from the first few I tried is all but gone . Just enough now to help bring out the other flavors . I am sucking the last bit of goodness out of one as I type .. Keep at it , it will get better .

    Hope this helps some ....

The wintergreen doesn't seem too salty to me, but I don't notice the salt taste in snus nearly as much as I did six weeks ago. I would have to say it seems less salty that the regular General portions.

You might also try the General dry mini mint. I don't like that these contain artificial sweetener, and leave a bit of a funky lingering aftertaste, but they are kind of sweet.

Well, you do have to offset the extra salt with extra pepper!

I don't even think we have a salt shaker in the house. I love pepper though.

PMD, I think you are just still relatively new. Yeah, you might notice it a bit more than others, then maybe just takes a bit longer for it to recede for you.

Also, just try some other los too. I *think* General is relatively salty. Give Prima Fint a try. Don't remember much salt at all in that.

I don't know if it is true in all cases but I noticed the salt content of portions tend to be lower.

Ettan lös 5% salt, Ettan portions 2% salt

The heavy salt taste in General and Grov

I have been alternating between General regular and Grov the last few days. It seems to be getting saltier. I thought someone said after a while the salt gets less noticeable. Maybe because I don't add any salt to my food is the reason the taste jumps out at me. I hate salty food. Not really enjoying the taste in my snus. Finished the can of General tonight and am glad.

I am starting to miss my regular dip some. Bought some Kodiak in the pouch and really enjoyed it. Hopefully, now that I am on to other flavors cans, I'll like the snus again because I like the low drip of it for work. Grov is even saltier than the General to me.

When I place my order to Getsnus to order my Discreet, I am going to order some regular Ettan and had thought about General Wintergreen but not I am not so sure after the experience with General regular and Extra Sterk. Any other suggestions that are lighter on the salt? I am also thinking about Offroad Cranberry and the wintergreen.

Oh by the way, I like both the Ettan and Prima Flint los. IceTool is awesome.

Funny, I would say the same thing about Tre Ankre. Not bad but I just got mostly salt with a little tobacco. Yet others have suggested it as low salt. Go figure.

Truth be told, I just don't pay that much attention to the salt or saltiness of whatever I happen to have in at the time. I guess you really do acclimate.
I meant to get back to this...

Someone mentioned Lucky Strike as being on the lower salt side, and I've seen that mentioned before. Lucky's always struck me as being a saltier snus. It's curious how people perceive the same product.

I've said this before, so forgive my repitition, but it's astounding to me how many people find Grov anything low on the salt spectrum. I love salt so much that I will literally take a drink from a freshly-opened bottle of soy sauce, and to me, grov original portions are like those little white salt packets coated in snus. I can't speak to the whites as I've not had them in a year or so, but original and los are extremely salty to me. But in a good way, because to a degree that's what I'm looking for. I guess I would concur with the Ettan suggestions, or even better IMO, something nice and bitter like Gotland Yellow, Jakobssons Original (dear god not the ice fruit) or Taboca. I detect very salt in those three commonly-themed sneese. Fine, snuses. Good luck!
