I figured Knox couldn't be that bad, as it's made by Skruf. I was looking for something else to round out my order and went with a roll LD white portion. Both kinds are definitely in the "bargain" brand category, but they're both quite good. I'm a fan of white potions, and the LD is very good IMO, classic tobacco taste, but pretty mild and mellow, I couldn't deal with the flavor of Grov[pickles?] or Retro[bitter?], so I'm glad the LD whites have a more subdued flavor. I like the look of the newer packaging too, and the hinged 'ashtray' lid is cool too. The Knox is surprisingly good for as inexpensive as it is. Though I can't come up with anything for which to draw a comparison in flavor. I would buy both of these brands again in portion, and like them well enough to try their lös counterparts soon.
2 decent "value" rolls, Knox and LD white portion

Your mention of LD portions made me revisit it tonight. I had bought 2 cans last month and, didn't really care for it. I opened the last one tonight and, like you said, it's not too bad for the price! As for Knox, I haven't tried the portions yet but, the lös is pretty good!

For the price Knox is got to be the best snus around. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this at the more normal prices. The los is very good also, I just wish it was 50g like Skruf Stark los. I get a peppery and mild citrus flavor from it. Would anyone compare it to General?

I like the LD original portions a whole lot. I probably won't get them again though because I've switched almost completely to lös. I get the LD Red lös now ;^)
I don't care for Knox, but I'm not a fan of Skruf products in general. I'm in the minority in that regard, and I think anyone that likes Skruf will like Knox.
Edit:
I wouldn't compare Knox to General at all. Knox doesn't have the citrus, or the salt of General. It has a thin floral, almost pure tobacco flavor that doesn't really agree with me.

I've tried the LD Black and the LD Blue (R.I.P) and was thinking about ordering the LD Original. Never tried it but have tried Knox a few times. I never really cared for Knox, tastes a little vegetal like artichokes or something, flavor doesn't last very long either. I love Gustavas, how does LD compare?

Originally posted by lxskllrLD is similar to Gustavus. The Gustavus has more of a earthy character, while the LD has a "brighter" citrus tone, with a very distinct bergamot flavor. If pushed to a preference, I think I prefer LD, but I enjoy both thoroughly.

Yes, Knox is great snus. It has it's own distinct flavor that doesn't really compare to any other snus IMO. I like it a lot, and I find it really nice that the good people at Skruf doesn't seem to have tried to copy the trusty old General like so many other have (I'm looking especially at you, Granit!). That's a plus in my book.

I too like Knox. Be careful not to confuse it with Kronan.
Knox is clean and distinct. I could use it all day and not get tired of it.
Gustavus reminds me of General's flavor profile. It's snappier. I didn't like it at first. I have grown to really appreciate it, so much that I got a few cans in my latest order. I still detect a coffee ground note that I hated at first, but now admire. A drier snus. Good stuff.
I have so much Montecristo loose I can't use before the date. If someone wants some please trade me something.
I got a red LD can to try thanks to lskllr's opining. I will bust it out next empty can that pops out.
