True but we have to play with cards we have been dealt and die with our boots on if need be.

Excuse me while I derail this thread momentarily...

c'mon wa3zrm, you're just going to start inserting your news stories into constructive, otherwise-thoughtful threads? There's two examples of this just on the 10 most recent threads. This forum's not big enough for your Yahoo 'weird news' bites? Show some class! What you're doing is called spamming. I know you beat off to being our resident troll/spammer, but I for one would like you to keep it out of normal, thoughtful discussions about SNUS. Danke.

I feared this would be coming.

They have been screaming for years about those evil smokers, who is poisoning the air for the little whiners calling themselves "victims". And now that a smokeless solution is at hand, they bloody ban it. EU-bastards!

And what did they not ban? The cigarettes that started this idiotic campaign! Bloody hypocrites!

I am not giving up my snus, even if this will make me a criminal. Normally I would consider myself to be a decent, law abeiting man, but I have had it. I don't give a damn about the EU and I will screw their laws. And you know what? It's going to make me feel good.

Hey guys, how likely is it that Sweden would just say, "You know what? Screw the EU, we are done." If EU sanctions told them they can no longer flavor snus? There are already states here in the US that forbid the sale of fruit flavored dips. I mean its hilarious that you can be an adult that enjoys flavored tobacco and the government thinks its stricly geared towards kids.

Im still angered by this after reading this earlier while I was in class.

On a positive note, maybe Gotlands would have no choice but to bring back their natural offerings......HURRAY!!!

Im joking, this whole situation going on with the EU just shows how ignorant and immoral the leaders there are.

I could see it now... we would be like the Chinese... only we would be buying 50 pound bags of snuff rather than rice

    Speaking of Chinese...

Man Nearly Died by Shipping Himself to Girlfriend (As a Romantic Gesture)
AsiaOne ^ A man from Chongqing in Southern China nearly suffocated to death after a romantic gesture to his girlfriend went wrong.
Mr Hu Seng had asked his friend to tape him into a box so he could ship himself via a courier service to his girlfriend, Li Wang.
However, the romantic gesture turned into a life-threatening event for Mr Hu when the courier company mixed up the address with another delivery.
The 30-minute wait turned into a three-hour ordeal for Mr Hu.
The material of the box was reportedly too thick for him to make any breathing holes while inside and he did not want to spoil the surprise by calling for attention.
When the box arrived at Li Wang's place, his friend was poised to record the event.
However, they found Mr Hu unconscious and looking pale upon opening the package.
Subsequently, paramedics were called over to her apartment to revive him.
He admitted, "I didn't realise it would take so long."
The courier company said they would not have accepted this delivery if they had known there was a person inside.
The spokesperson said that even for animals, a special container would be used so they can breathe properly.

That EU sucks. Denmark has worse leadership than we do in the USA. Personally, I think the EU acts like a dictator.

There ya go. Thats a start. Ya need someone to put the words together for everything and get the template out there. Gather the names and address of the people that need the letters and list them. Send the template and addresses to everybody to fill out and sign and post. Use your email contacts, facebook [yea make a page to save snus!!] Get all the likes you can, contact other websites with the info. Its a bit of work to get started but once the ball starts rolling it might help save snus.

Taxing snus is one thing but banning it is crazy.

    Load em up boys

HOWEVER, the EU members can petition their EU parliament representative, write letters (if we could come up with a template that just needs name and address adding) spam the fookers with it. UK members (and any other EU members) can write to their members of parliament, we have spoken to ours many times and get on very well with him, he has just been promoted into the cabinet (inner circle of UK government) so when we go down to see him I will certainly be bringing snus onto the agenda and our membership of the EU (cans of snus will be distributed around the houses of parliament, which is one of the few places in the UK exempt from the smoking ban!).

I have already converted a few people in work to snus, I do not and will not go back to smoking, but I enjoy tobacco, its legal so I should be able to enjoy it in the medium in which I choose. People just don;t want to hear the words, tobacco and safe or safer in the same sentence, smoking it is bad for you, can't deny it, however snus is a hell of alot safer than smoking it!

Well, this sucks big time. The freaking world is a mess these days. We need to take control back from the governments if there is anyway that we can. How can we unite to possibly do something to help? What are the options for us to let the right people know that snus is saving lives? There has to be something that can be done. Don't we have some attorneys that are members here that might have some ideas and put something together to try and stop this shit? Isn't there some kind of petition or something can be put together that we can all sign that might help then lets do it. Make it general enough that we can appeal to the members of snuscentral and go smokeless and other online tobacco forums to also get involved. Its time to unite and give em hell. Even tho I'm doing what I can to help the members at SnusOn the governments are making me sick and tired of all this bullshit. This just isn't right and its pissing me off big time.

    end of rant......for now

You all need to go to Sweden, find a proper tobacco shop and make bulk buys to last you a year, I think it will be worth it, cause the snus shops selling to EU are expensive as hell. Anyone coming to Malmö I can aid in the purchasing.
