    Yes! Thanks RobME.

If that really is the tobacco spiceyness that I'm tasting, I'm blown away... that is strong! And delicious! This snus really has personality, just a very consistent personality.

I didn't have any of the Montecristo yesterday, but I am enjoying a portion right now as I'm typing this (about 45 minutes in) and I keep trying to do a wine test with the flavor (you know, kinda take some flavor into my mouth, then (sorry, this is gross) mix the saliva around while making sure some of the air gets in my nose) and I'm really trying to detect some other flavors, but I can't nail down anything - the spicey just keeps coming. There might be a tiny bit of something else, but I can't identify it. By the way, I'm a new snuser, but I've been around cigars a long while and eventually was able to pick up and savor the various flavors that find their way into the cigar smoke.

Hell, the fact that it has made its way here illegally almost makes me enjoy it more.

      Follow-up e-mail from Taboca Snus

      Dear Dale,

Correct, the American embargo covers these Swedish manufactured products with Cuban Tobacco as well (Montecristo, Romeo y Juliet)

In Taboca we don’t have any Cuban Tobacco so this product should be possible to purchase wherever you are in the world.

Kind regards / Med vänliga hälsningar

Greetings. Does the American embargo of Cuban products apply to Swedish manufactured snus made with Cuban tobacco (i.e. Monte Cristo, Romeo y Julieta and Taboca)? I am a member of a snus forum (SnusON.com), and would like to pass on any information you might be able to give me. Thank you for your time and trouble.

        Well,
Thanks for the review Rob, and to Mad Celt, good work on both your parts. I guess these will be on my list right behind Nick and Johnny los, as snus I can not try.

          Not bad...

GenuineSpirit...Not a bad list of snus brands at all. Don't lament the loss of "Cuban" snus too much. SnusOn!

RobMe...thank you for all your info, it "lit a fire under my ass" and persuaded my search. SnusOn!

GS, Don't give up!!! The odds are in your favor for getting a small shipment. Try a few single cans. Maybe I got lucky once, but I'm sure I'll get lucky again, and I will place subsequent orders for one of these brands.

            Good luck,

Hey RobME, appreciate the info on the cuban snus and enjoyed your review, good stuff. As far as these sites go, the Snusworldwide sites prices are a pretty high but the .de sites prices look competitive. Have you ever ordered from that site though? Looks to be brand new. :?

Aye - just to repost this info:

I bought 5 cans of the Cuban snus from WorldwideSnus.com and they came in the mail, cool as you like!

Thanks auggie, I was curious though if RobME (since he posted the link) had any experience with snuskaufenonline.de or not. Their prices are pretty good and evidently they'll ship the Cuban Snus' to the US. Curious if anyone else has ordered from there too, it looks like a brand new site.

@toekuttr... I bought two cans of each of these brands from XXXX. At that time, I didn't know about XXXX. I have noticed though that their prices are lower (for single cans), and their shipping & handling charges are less. I just did place a small order with them the other day. When (or if), I get the goods, I'll post back here and let you know. FWIW, placing the order and paying for it was very smooth, and I did get a quick follow-up confirmation email.

Well RobME, I guess its a race to see who gets theirs first as I ended up ordering last night anywho. As you noted about the ease of ordering and quick email confirmation, my account was also updated this am to "order shipped" status. I've always been a little impatient but am looking forward to trying the M.C. Lös especially, and the RyJ portions for good measure. I'll also post on my experience when the package arrives. Thanks for the link!

*their prices on rolls aren't bad either.

I think if we (both) get ours at all, we both win. Hope you like them.

It makes me wonder how different their Klondike product will taste from the Swedish made snus.

As far as the risk of it, I have thought about something for a while.

I know that ignorance of the law is never an excuse, but it can actually work in your favor sometimes, and I think this is one of those times. Of course everyone knows that you cannot order Cuban cigars into the US. But how many people really know that there is Cuban tobacco in Montecristo? How many people would really know that you cannot order it in the USA? Even if it was opened, I think it could make it just because they would not know what it is. And if you ever were questioned, hell, you are ordering one or two cans (not enough to resell) and could just give them a blank stare and a "What?" when they say you broke the law. It may be enough for them to drop it in the trash and tell you to not do it again.

                                Montecristo

You can bet Taboca and Habanos know there is Cuban tobacco in Montecristo. And it would proper corporate governance for Taboca to police the Nordic Internet exporters just as Habanos honors the embargo from Cuba. I am sure it's part of their licensing agreement.
