    Help, dip is tempting me

I'd like to try dipping just for the sake of trying it. Skoal, Copenhagen, Grizzly, whatever.

How much more harmful is dipping than using snus? Do you 'mold' dip or just pinch it.

Is the tobacco fire cured or whatever compared to how snus is made? How are the levels of TSNA's, and sugary crap they put in it, I don't want to rot my teeth or destroy my gums.

I have yet to try any dip. I bought some Timber Wolf Packs recently because they're made by Pinkerton owned by Swedish Match and have the lowest TSNA levels of any American dip. Haven't tried them yet, but might be an option.

I used to dip and loved it. Its fire cured if im not mistaken. TSNA's are high. And depending on which brand, it can be quite sugary. Also, alot of ppl complain about chemical burns. Its very harsh on your gums and lip. Its taken as a pinch. No baking or molding. Bottom lip it.

Personal Opinion. Go for it. Its your addiction. Try and see if you like it.

Oh! And what type of Snus do you like? Flavored or Natural Tobacco flavor?

I think I'll pass, I'm too afraid to pinch loose snus, I doubt I'd be able to dip and enjoy it.

I want to, cheaper, can buy it wherever, no shipping. I would do it if some local stores had some VERY low sugar dip, and TSNA levels in the same range as snus.

EDIT: Natural tobacco, by miles. Most of the flavored snus tastes like ass.

I tried Grizly(or was it Cope?) pouches a while back.. and it's like a punch in the face compared to snus. Spit it out in less than 5 minutes and gave the can away. You may like it, tho.

Dip isn't as bad as people portray it as.
Yes it's not great for your gums because it will cause some recession, but honestly I believe that it isn't as cancer causing as cigs or even alcohol for that matter.
Try it out. I enjoy the occasional dip, and I also started doing dip reviews on my youtube channel as well.

I'll probably end up using loose snus and pretend it's dip.

If you do try it. I would suggest Cope Long cut. OR Skoal Long cut. Natural Flavor. But yea. Honestly snus is a whole hellva lot better. Coming from an x dipper and chewer.

Oh and dont try chew. Its really really sweet. Lol

My dad has been dipping for 20+ years. I'll ask to have some of his before I buy a whole thing.

He has experimented with snus..I was surprised to find that out, he even mentioned General before I could say it!

Lol. Thats awesome. My mom surpised the hell out of me when she said she would try to quit smoking using snus. She hates dip and chew with a passion.

                            That's what I do now.

I used to like dip but the last few times I thought I wanted some I really didn't.

Why don't you go try something that doesn't make you spit... like nasal snuff?

I loved dipping...still dip occasionally, but have only bought one tin this month, since I got my Snus on the 1st. Dip never gave me chemical burns, or any stuff like that. I dipped for 10 years, and no leukoplakia, either. Snus is a much more subtle flavor than the in-your-face flavor of dip. But sometimes I want that...lol...luckily I discovered General mint. Tastes almost exactly like Grizzly mint, and is just as strong in flavor.
