    Appetite?

When I was a smoker and was hungry a smoke killed my appetite for awhile. Snus? Not so much. Does snus curb your appetite at all?

Somewhat, not that much. Nicotine and caffeine together kills my appetite rather well though. I think the cigarettes kill it more because of the carbon monoxide and all the other chemicals in there.

When I first started with snus, it made me feel like I was starving. I'd put a portion in, and get hunger pangs within 15 minutes. That went away after a couple months, and now it's neutral. It doesn't affect me one way or the other.

I am convinced that snus causes apetite supression, at least for me. My urge to snus and my urge to eat feel like the same "hunger" and I even get them confused sometimes. Sometimes I have to remind myself to eat because i'll be putting in prilla after prilla and it kind of keeps my mind off food too much to the point where I delay eating or skip it all together.

No one else feels snus is an apetite suppressor? I have always felt like snus suppressed my apetite, maybe I got some wierd chemistry thing going on, but it's as clear as day from where i'm standing.

It's more a conscious suppression, rather than chemical. I pretty much chainsnus, and I'm very adverse to wasting my precious snus, so I'll feel hungry, and if my pris is fairly fresh ignore the feeling. By the time the pris gets old, the hunger will be gone, and I'll put in a fresh pris; rinse/repeat. Hunger comes and goes naturally for me, and the snus restrains me from eating when I want.

Sterks supress my appetite as well as minty snus. Regular snus...not so much.

I have a crappy eating schedule anyway....I work with food all day and by the time I am done I don't want to see food.

Breakfast at 6am to get me going....coffee and water all day and I usually have a healthy snack (a salad or a wrap) around 3 pm when I get angry and that's it.

Later in the evening I get kinda hungry but I pop a sterk and drink a glass of water and I am good til the morning.

I agree. So I try to schedule my usage around my food schedule. :P

Snus in concert with coffee works wonders for the appetite suppression IMO. It's probably moreso the coffee, but I'm sure the nic has something to do with it. For me it gets my mind off of the hunger for an hour or two. Often I use this twice each day to squash the hunger...or at least put it off for a while.

I'd say snus is pretty much like smoking when it comes to food.

If I would chain snus a whole can a day I would be fine with 2 sandwiches, 2 apples and maybe some candy...... which isn't healthy lol

Snus doesn't really supress my appetite as much as smoking did (especially portions. . . somehow) but when I'm bored at home normally I would make something to eat, now I just bake a prilla and wait for some food to be brought to me :P.

I put on weight all the other times I tried to quit smoking. I did not when I started using snus instead of cigarettes...

It has to do with the nicotine withrawals, when quiting nicotine(especially from smoking) the cravings you get can be confused with hunger pangs, and sometimes people eat to help ease the withdrawals as well. So add that to the fact that you no longer have the nicotine for an appetite suppressant and it can lead to weight gain.

I think it's not only the increased appetite...

Everyone has a different body hence some women are a bit chubby ...some are very slim.............. and so on ..... Smoking particularly keeps you thinner and that's a sign that the body is suffering (losing weight) smoking cut around 15 kg of my normal weight ... and I am slowly regaining it.....

I am now 68 kg.... I used to be 73 back 5 years ago lol....

I don't know much about snusing and weight but I guess it keeps a bit of the weight off as well.

I gained a lot of weight in the first six months of using snus and just recently after 3 years have lost all of it and more.

My theory is that I was moving way more as smoker, going outside for a little (walk/smoke) every hour at work and home because my wife liked it when I smoked outside.

With snus I stay pretty much stationary in my computer seat all day long or on the couch at home.
