I've been doing it for 1 1/2 years, and find my weight fluctuates much less.
p.s. health, not ethical vegetarian.
Good to see, d. I've been a vegetarian (vegan; ethical) for 2.5 years, and a pescatarian before that for many years. In the process, though, I've learned how lethal the average Western diet is, and feel really lucky that my ethics ended up corresponding with nature. It's a lonely vigil, so it's nice to spot someone on the road, if just for health reasons. Cheers.
As soon as I quit smoking for the snus my appetite went bat shit insane. I would've eaten the raped ass off a dead ape if you put it in front of me.
It's subsided, but I am eating more than usual and noticing some weight gain. Might as well put this appetite to use and go back to hitting the weights!
Now I want to try a betel quid. Is there anywhere it can be purchased online??
I don't think you can buy them prepared online. From what I know, they aren't sold here in quid form either. For less than half a dollar (USD), people make their own quid by buying a 'DIY quid kit' which contains a couple of Betel leaves, tobacco leaves, lime powder and betel nuts. Only fresh leaves are used to make a quid.
As you might not know, chewing betel quid requires regular spitting, has been studied and linked to oral cancer and other illnesses, and gives the teeth a permanent redder hue over time.
Thanks kweki! I just want to try it not use it consistently. My motto in life is try everything at least once..... even if it is illegal or bad for health.
I think the metabolic effects of inhaling carbon monoxide (cigarette smoking) have a greater effect on appetite than smokeless tobacco. When I used to smoke, I would notice my heart rate jump for a short amount of time after smoking a cigarette. With snus, nicotine is only effecting your metabolic rate, since carbon monoxide is not produced. I would think cigarettes are more efficient at suppressing the appetite since a slew of other chemicals are produced with the inhalation of combusted matter.
