Is this new Skoal and Marlboro a test run or is it coming out nationally?

If NEW YORK has it, it's national.

I am starting to see "Coming Soon, A New Skoal" signs everywhere now. A huge tobacco company pushing what will most likely be crappy tasting snus. Here we go again! Could this be the outcome of the many polls that asked a lot of us 1000 times if "This Was a Genuine Brand" or "A Refreshing Tobacco Experience?"

The new Marlboro Snus cans look similar to these, except they are black and have the new government warnings.

Does the new can make a nice clang when it hits the trash?

I will give them credit for adopting a cool looking can rather than using the paper and plastic packs they are using now. Let us hope that they also up the portion count a bit.

I must give them credit as well. At least they are attempting to improve in some way or another. It's a good sign for the future of snus in America that the companies keep spending money on test panels and surveys to try and turn crap into gold. I'm not sure they'll ever succeed but at least they're trying. Too bad they can't listen to the two simple things we tell them: less sweetness, more nicotine.

Those Marlboro pics are for an old Marlboro dip, long cut. I never had it, and it didn't live long.

I was saying they look similar to them. The new Marlboro Snus cans look pretty cool though.

Yeah, I realized that, after I posted and looked over the thread. I wonder what that Marlboro dip was like?

Apparently it wasn't too special. I think it failed because dippers prefer dip-oriented brands over cigarette brands. That's why I think Camel Dip will be discontinued soon.

I agree but it also seems like the American tobacco companies are trying to reinvent the wheel in that there is a good product out there already. If they could get over politics and egos they could import Swedish snus here and re-brand it with their name. I also think that the tobacco companies were trying to kill the future of Swedish, not American made snus, when they sponsored the PACT Act.
