Snus and dip don't hurt me, but I've found that loose leaf chew gives me ear and tooth/jaw pains. Continued use will probably lead to tooth loss, or so the gigantic health warnings say.

The ear pain is directly linked to the tooth decays and sinusitis, the pain radiates to the ear and neck... it's pretty nasty.
I am also going to agree on the Northerner as it seems like a very gentle snus. My guess is that your problem in not with the sweetener but with the salt.
