Snus and dip don't hurt me, but I've found that loose leaf chew gives me ear and tooth/jaw pains. Continued use will probably lead to tooth loss, or so the gigantic health warnings say.

Plus the cold weather here is conductive to ear and throat pains anyway, and tobacco only seems to make it worse.
Yeah, it's the weather and sinusitis ... back here the temperature went from 22 Celcius .. to - 5 Celcius in just a few days .... I get these sinus issues like twice a year and it's usually in the winter and spring ....

The ear pain is directly linked to the tooth decays and sinusitis, the pain radiates to the ear and neck... it's pretty nasty.

I am also going to agree on the Northerner as it seems like a very gentle snus. My guess is that your problem in not with the sweetener but with the salt.
I thought that salt doesn't affect decays....

I don't know about the salt. I've never had salt related issues that I'm aware of. It sounds like you got it narrowed down to the artificial sweetener. I can't confirm because I avoid them like the plague, but that's the only thing in dip that isn't in snus AFAIK. I suppose it could also be from fermented tobacco, but I don't know how that would cause tooth pain. Seems like a good reason to avoid dip to me. There's a reason a lot of people quit dip for snus.

I get sinusitis and snus has never affected it, certainly not my teeth and gums anyway.

Of course, it could be gum recession, exposing sensitive areas of your teeth - if you don't already try using a sensitive toothpaste.

Or you could just have a bad tooth. If it keeps up, you should see a dentist as it might be something completely unrelated to tobacco use that requires dental care.

Did you ever try to take an antihistamine? Sounds like you've got some bad allergies. I am in the same boat. If the sinuses are affected then they can become blocked and an infection can begin. Odd, as it sounds the infections can travel inside your head and it's all connected anyhow. My daughter just had a sinus infection that migrated from her cheek to her eye. She was on IV antibiotics for two days as the infection went sub orbital.

Try to take a Claratin or something. Use a neti pot and clean out well. I'd even advocate for some Echinacea (sp). That stuff works, man. It takes a few days for it to grab hold of whatever you're fighting but I don't think that your issue is with tobacco. I think the tobacco is just exacerbating the symptoms. Any chance of a tooth abscess or wisdom tooth movement? Decay between the teeth?..if you've ever had braces this is more likely.

I've used quite a few medications to treat some bad infections .. but I'm not on them constantly...

              I hate pills anyways ...

Try to take a Claratin or something.
I've used Cleratin one or two weeks ago, when I got a skin rash from some nicotine patches.

The tooth pain has slowed down today and I've managed to put in a larger pinch of dip ...

Of course, it could be gum recession, exposing sensitive areas of your teeth - if you don't already try using a sensitive toothpaste.
Even the toothpaste was giving me a nasty pain yesterday....

It honestly sounds like you have a cavity. Call your dentist.

                  It's a tooth decay yes ...

That hasn't been treated in time... and everytime I have more serious sinus issue it hurts like hell... I just hate the dentist.. I've been like 10 times this year already :-)

I almost have dental phobia, lol

And the dip seems to increase the tooth pain .... I'm better now :-) Thanks

Well there you go, fix that problem, or cease to do things that aggrevate it.

Go to the pharmacy and ask for some pseudoephidrine HCL in 60mg tablets. Take one every four hours. It's part of the amphetamine family but works wonders for clearing out your sinuses. Its like a wonder drug for me and mine get so bad at the even slightest hint of a cold/flu that it completely mutes my hearing and screws my balance.
