    Baking My First Pris!

    Hello all.

My shipment arrived yesterday from Northerner and was awaiting me at the post office a few blocks north of me. Being the night owl I am, I was still awake and alert come 6 a.m. and decided to walk down to pick it up. I got the loose try-out box from Northerner.

That being said, I took out the can of Ettan Los and watched the video that Zero posted (thanks much to you, Zero) and began my first attempt at baking a pris. I baked just a small one, as I didn't want to overload my lip in case of crumbling. My first one fell apart in my mouth because I clumsily didn't put it in my lip right.

I packed a second one and now it is securely placed in my upper lip and there has been no tobacco avalanche as of yet. The Ettan Los is absolutely delicious.

I was very surprised at just how uncomplicated the baking process was, nor was it nearly as messy an undertaking as I had imagined. It was a little strange, yes, as I hadn't done it before, but the pris came out looking very presentable.

Many thanks to Zero again, as his video helped immensely. I can already tell the all of you were right... loose is wonderful, and from here on out I'll likely go by what all of you were saying:

Portion for out and about.. Definitely loose for home.

Congratulations on a positive experience with loose! You're right about that Zero, he makes a helluva tutorial and a prilla. Thanks to you as well, Z.

You've gotta use some different music next time though, mate!

      P.S.

I don't know why I posted this in Snus & Health. I was tired and not paying attention. Should have been in Snus Tips & Tricks or Snus & Snus Accessories.

      Forgive me, all.

 I went for whimsical on purpose...sort of shooting for a post-modern, office health & safety video vibe, or like something you should be put on hold with when ringing up Ikea.

Sometimes, a pris feels kinda rough on my gums, i'm hurtin right now. But, doing it the hillblly-method, it doesn't hurt at all.....feels like with a pris there's more pressure on my gums or somethin

I agree that a tightly packed pris is more uncomfortable than a loosely packed one.

V2 lös is the worst for that, especially using the IceTool. V2 will compress to a rock, and it'll actually hurt. I've taken to handbaking my V2 snuses. I've never really hillbillied snus, as I'm not completely comfortable with the technique, but I need to give it a try some time.

It's not entirely a hillbilly method, I just sort of pack it so it's not all over the place, and then when I put it in, I don't put it all the way up there....it shows more on my teeth, but the pain's gone away for the most part. Guess my gums need to toughen up

Grats bro. I have gotten to the point where I can use ettan without any sort of baking at all. I just grab a big pinch and throw it in my mouth and use my tongue to arrange it.

Ettan los is one of the strongest flavors to me, even above the strong snus about. It just gets more and more flavor as it rocks on.

When I use my icetool, which is a lot, i dont compress and just lightly push it into the can and put it in so as not to compress. A tight pris is sort of a waste.
