Snus and.. starts with a D and ends in a i-a-r-r-h-e-a

Getting kind of personal here but who better to ask than fellow snusers.

Ever since I've quit smoking (almost 3 weeks ago) and started snusing I have been plagued with this problem on almost a daily basis.

I have narrowed it down to two things:

The fact that I quit smoking (heard it can lead to IBS)
    Strong portions
    Los
Increased consumption of Diet Dr. Pepper due to how wonderful it tastes with snus

The reason I suspect los is... well, I'm guessing those are the little bits I am seeing in the toilet, but am not 100% sure. I have an iron stomach. I have not vomited in I cannot remember how long. I don't even remember the last time I threw up... I would say at LEAST since I was 12, maybe even younger (I am 25 now). I used to "gut" American chew with absolutely no problems; no nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

The reason I suspect strong portions is... every morning that I start with a strong I seem have this problem around mid-afternoon. I don't know if this is the suspect because I figure I should have a pretty high nicotine tolerance after smoking for 10 years.

The reason I suspect Diet Dr. Pepper is because on of their 23 ingredients is prune juice, which can lead to the squirts. I have also heard that Dr. Pepper has one of the highest amounts of caffeine inside the regular non-juiced-up sodas department. I have been downing at least a liter a day.

Anyway, I bought some "Fibersure" and what do you know, it mixes fine with beer! Can't taste it, doesn't thicken it, and I'm getting some good ol' fiber while enjoying snus and a cold one. I am really hoping this will help.

Has anyone else had this problem while quitting smoking and switching to snus? Did you ever find the cause? Find anything that helped?

There have been several reports here about quitting smoking affecting the bowels. It may just be your body adjusting to different nicotine levels. I was the opposite. I plugged up for a week. Give it some time.
Dr. Pepper in large quantities might do it, beer will also cause issues.

Quit drinking, beer and Dr., and quit snussing for a month and see what happens....

I never had that problem after quitting smoking or starting to snus. As well, I drink tons of caffeine and have no ill effects. However, a night after pounding down 15 cold ones will make me rain a brown storm in the toilet.

              Not true.

Fiber is great for IBS. It soaks up the excess water and makes things more solid. I read it on wikipedia. That means it is FACT

"Soluble fiber supplements may be beneficial for alleviating symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, such as diarrhea and/or constipation and abdominal discomfort."

i research everything there is a lot of bad info out there. the one about dr pepper having prune juice has been around since the 30's. if i didn't research things i would actually think that snus is worse for you than smoking.

Then it's not the Dr. Pepper then.

Thank God. Love me some Dr. Pepper.
