    First cigarette in six months!

Like most typical mornings, I was hungover. However, I was more so than usual. When my stomach is upset after a night of drinking, I can't bare snus, since it only proliferates and increases the severity of my stomachaches. So, I took my first break at work and was dying for some nicotine. I bummed a Marlboro Light from a coworker and took seven weak drags. YUCK! That's what came to mind. All I could taste was sugar and a cocktail of chemicals. After those puffs, I threw the cigarette in the ashtray. About five minutes passed and my nicotine cravings were so severe that I popped in a General Ekstra Sterk portion. Mmmmm... relief. My stomach handled it well and my workday of chain-snusing started.

Lesson learnt: cigarettes are not satisfying and taste like a failed science experiment!

I'm sure other people here have had similar experiences. Post them!

I took a couple drags off of a buddy's Camel last week.....you're right about tasting all of the chemicals. I haven't had a smoke in around 6-7 months, so I have been away for a while. The experience wasn't anywhere near as horrible as when you first start smoking, but it's definitely bad enough to not bother with it again. That's important, because it sure as hell isn't hard to get used to it again!

It's amazing how well your senses recover after six months. When I began smoking, I would go with Marlboro Lights and they tasted very plain. I'm glad I could taste all the nasty chemicals in the smoke. As well, I got slightly dizzy; this was not from the nicotine though, it was from the carbon monoxide my body was not used to!

I had a cigarette about a month ago after not having them for only a few weeks. It made me, in the most basic of terms, feel like crap! It FELT like I ingested a bunch of chemicals, thats for sure!

        High 5 for Snus!

I quit smoking on May 23rd, 2008. I only made one slip, in August. I lost control of myself and bought a pack of Benson & Hedges Menthol which I used to smoke regularly, and I smoked three of them before I realized what I was doing and tossed them out. They tasted DAMN good! Cigarette addiction will mess your mind up, no joke!

I could never bring myself to use leftovers from ashtrays... unless I knew they were my own....

My last cigarette in November 2007 tasted like shit, like almost every of the millions(?) of cigarettes that I've smoked in my life and it almost knocked me out, which normally would have been a plus for me, but by then I already very much prefered the way snus sneaks up, regarding the nicotine-impact.

Everybody is different, but from my experience, for everyone, who has found snus, unlike cold-turkey-quitters, smoking a cigarette is the best way to get rid of them for good.

I'm sure, If I'd ever smoke a cigarette again (which may happen one day, since I'm still no "psychotic non-smoker" and people still offer me cigarettes on occasion), it also wouldn't impress me.

                          Cheers!

Where I grew up we called them re-fries.

My wife still smokes a bit and I can't stand the smell at all.

Now my pipe? I do enjoy a bowl now and again but only with a premium tobacco.

My last drag was by accident in the MGM round bar in Vegas after 9 months. Looking like a idiot I was just puffing and blowing through my nose a clove cigarrette which I also did occasionally as a smoker.
                              (Never inhale those things!)

At one point a "22 YEAR OLD REFLEX" came over and I took a massive drag and almost coughed a eyeball out.
