I've seen several topics on people talking about quitting snus. My question is, why? My research has told me that snus has no adverse health effects except for addiction itself. I understand some people don't like the concept of being addicted to something but if it is something you enjoy and you can afford it, what is so bad about being addicted to snus in the first place?
What's so bad about being addicted to snus?

Only reason I could see is economic.. other than that I can't see no other reason. I'm sticking with snus because I deserve one vice at least. I quit smoking and drinking, it's all I got.

By being addicted to a substance, it puts you at the mercy of others. With snus, mostly the government. If we truly had a free market, I wouldn't have any issue wih nicotine addiction. Tobacco's too easy to grow, so any manufacturer price games would be easily defeated. If we lived in a free country, the government wouldn't be an issue, so snus would be fine.

I cut down significantly due to price. My pact stash is running down and I was able to purchase and try out much more snuff for less money. I still use snus bit rely heavily on snuff for my nicotine intake. It is way more cost effective...but snus will always have a place in my life.
Quit nicotine? Not likely.
Oh yeah....and my top three snuses were discontinued.....with no hope of replacement.

It seems this PACT act going on in America and economic/government reasons in general seem to be the biggest reasons people want to cut down or quit, considering I might live and work in Canada for University and beyond I shouldn't have a problem with snus bans and pricing.

Canuckistan is a horrible place to be a snuser. Taxes are arbitrarily applied, and can range from nothing, to astronomical. Also, there's no B&M presence. I'd look into going to Sweden for university ;^)

Lx is spot on. Surely you jest. Tobacco distribution here is heavily regulated. Cigarettes can run as high as $15 per pack and dip $18 per tin. Refrigeration/optimum storage for potential retailers of snus and other tobaccos is a nightmare.
Canadian law so severely restricts the display of said product that if it wasn't for the attached warning labels on the mysterious, locked storage cabinet, as to it's contents, ones imagination could run wild.....We're very secretive up here.
If you decide to venture into the unknown and ask that the contents behind "the green door" be revealed, you will probably find lots of scary pictures, some parched dip, a big spider, but no snus. The art of coaxing back to life a dryed-up tin of Copenhagen is well served in Canada.
Thinking maybe an online purchase? Agreed, selection is better, but don't forget, behind door #3 is?.........yep, you guessed it..... Customs. No rule of thumb here. Duties, handling fees, post office signatures, patiently waiting by the campfire, this is all part and parcel. Every once in a while something slips through a crack. Some days are diamonds, some days are stone.
I'm a gambling man, so sad to say, this option I prefer.
Either way you look at it, Medicare needs it's tax donations so if you drink or smoke you're welcome here.

I think it is easier and less expensive to get Swedish Snus in the US than in Canada based on comments from Canadians on this and other forums. I can walk into 3 stores in my town and get General for $4.09 a can. A full roll is discounted. Ordering direct from Sweden is not an issue for me as well.
Good luck with you studies!!!
With regard to your last question...I agree...I see no problem with my snus addiction
