After the Hare Krishna guru passed away, there have been many issues, over how the order is to be set up and run, with many people leaving it. It's still split in many fragments, and today, there just isn't the big interest in eastern spirituality like there was back in the 70's.

Oh, yeah, I've met a couple of those. They won't sleep with you unless you've got a Sierra Club membership.

I work with a gay guy who says that he really can't stand a lot of homosexuals because they're so in your face about it. I think people should all be treated the same, but it does irk me on the occasions that I meet homosexual people who expect that they should be treated special simply because they're gay or lesbian. Equality means you don't get 'special' treatment, I treat you the same way I treat heterosexuals. It's like how I used to get annoyed in school because I had one kid in a few classes who thought he should be able to do whatever he wanted because he was black. He'd walk into class 20 minutes late (to a 44 minute class) and when the teacher gave him a detention, we'd all be treated to hearing, "Miss, is it 'cause I'm black? You're giving me detention 'cause I'm black, aren't you?" I've worked and gone to school with homosexuals who've done the same sort of thing every time they got in trouble. That's my only gripe with them, and it's admittedly with a minority within the larger homosexual community.

And truthwolf, did you read the wiki article you linked to?

Delany.[5] Since then, the organization has kept membership data private, but an undercover FBI investigation in 1995 discovered that there were 1,100 people on the rolls.[3] It is the largest organization in the umbrella group Ipce (formerly "International Pedophile and Child Emancipation").

NAMBLA is considered to be a pedophile support organization. Since 1995, public criticism and law enforcement infiltration have heavily impaired the organization. Its national headquarters now consists of little more than a private mail box service in San Francisco, and they rarely respond to inquiries. Some reports state that the group no longer has regular national meetings, and that as of the late 1990s to avoid local police infiltration, the organization discouraged the formation of local chapters
Now accepting that homosexuals make up 2% of the population as you said, that would have 1.79% of gay people being members of NAMBLA at it's peak, assuming membership is entirely homosexual. Really, you think that gay and lesbian couples shouldn't be allowed marriage or kids because out of 6140131 people 1100 of them might belong or have belonged to a pro-paedophile group? Hogwash, you'd have a better argument if you simply said,"I don't feel comfortable with the idea of them marrying or adopting kids."

That's a legitimate gripe, IMO, and it's true of a few individuals in any minority community. For example, I have a lot of disabled (or differently-abled, if you prefer) friends. Most are wonderful people who only want to be accommodated within reason -- otherwise, they don't want any special treatment. But there's always one or two who want to play the "King Victim" or "Queen Victim" role, and insist that everyone bend over backwards for them because they walk with a cane, or are in a wheelchair. None of them seem to grasp that they're alienating people who otherwise would be supportive, if only they wouldn't try so hard to milk their disadvantages for all they can get out of them.

                              This.

I just love to read the ridiculous, irrational and ludicrous arguments of rabid straight bigots. They make fools of themselves far better than I could ever do.

And thanks very much to all you supportive straight folk out there. I finally feel welcome here.
                              This^^^^

Yes, thanks to all, Desirex, Roo, Tom and his honesty if he were in a gay orgie situation,
Danieln<- for his continued hopes to see 2 hot lesbians making out, and Sheila. Thanks for your support.

And of course Pipensnus for coming out with me, lol
