Cloves banned. Knew it was coming, just wanna complain. :)

I didn't really know where to post this, since we don't have a "cigarette" forum, but I read it and it kinda bugged me. Saw it on Anthony's website drsnus.com, and also had someone email me the link below.

    http://www.indystar.com/article/2009...ove+cigarettes

I don't smoke anymore. Snus is my full time. BUT, on occasion if/when I do smoke, it's usual a clove. That's my occasional. So I'm kinda bummed about this one. Apparently they will still be legal until the 30th. So I'm thinking about buying a carton to throw in the freezer just for sh*ts and giggles over the next 50 years. Or maybe we can still order these online. I dunno.

EDITED TITLE: I knew this was coming, true. I had my head in the sand. Nothing to do now about it anyone, just felt like randomly complaining.

I bought a pack a few weeks ago because of this. Really sucks. Our kids will grow up and miss out on going to a show and smelling a clove. Really lame.

      I KNOW!
I'm going to see Dave Matthews Band next Tuesday night and I fully plan on bringing a few cloves with me (it's an outdoor show in Little Rock) to enjoy with my beer.

We have known this was coming, even the date, ever since the FDA bill was passed and signed. Why are you suddenly suprised??

No, I've seen them sold here since then, so I haven't thought about that post. That was September 6th, I've seen them sold here since then.

Chad, we covered the FDA bill to death. Including the ban on flavors. We knew exactly how long we had, like 60 days, the FDA wasted no time puttng it into effect.

I'm all in favor of head in sand BEFORE something gets passed. But after, after we know it is, that really doesn't work well anymore, capiche??

I understand. But the world is getting harder, just means we need to always be a step ahead, and smarter.

Personally, the things will make me throw up now. Smoked them when I was 16. Now they just make me ill.

Make your own. Roll a cigarette with some ground clove in the mix, or perhaps some clove snuff.

I remember seeing an article years ago that said clove cigarettes were very hard on the lungs. I don't remember the source so it may not have been accurate, but they were talking emphysema in your 20s with heavy use. I imagine the occasional clove wouldn't hurt, but maybe it's best they aren't easily available anymore; or not :^D

everyone relax. djarum has it under control.

all they're going to do is stop wrapping them in paper and start wrapping them in tobacco. this legally makes them cigarillos

                          BAM

                          problem solved.

I too remember reading something similar years ago.

And they really do attract teenagers. I have never known ANYONE but a teenager to smoke more than one every few years. Just from personal experience, I can't argue with why they are doing what they are doing

Yeah, see? Now The Game Begins.

It's gonna be very interesting to watch and see what kinda ways manufacturers come up with to circumvent this stuff.
