It must be a late thirties deal but I have just started drinking whiskey/bourbons. For most of my drinking life it has been Vodka and Beer with the occasional Rum+Brandy bottle.
Drank some wild turkey at age 20 on top of everything else and had never felt so bad in my life so I gave up on it until now.

For a recent b-day I received these bottles.

Speyburn Scotch- Thin, slightly smoky and slightly peaty. Drank it with vermouth/bitters once and finished the bottle with club soda mix.The buzz was kinda slow and odd but hits hard. It's very easy to drink but a little blah. Will not be buying this ever.

Four Roses Bourbon Small Batch- Fruity flavors and very similar to my favorite of EJ XO brandy. Drank shots of this with budweiser chasers. Good buzz, minimal bite and the fruity tones were excellent. Will probably just drink this one without beer next time because I did have a medium to minimal hangover. Will definately buy this one.

Makers Mark- This one is hard to get down. Tried it in a manhatten, coke, ginger, shots and straight club soda and just dont like this one at all. Quick buzz that lasts but strong bite. Too much corn and other aftertaste. Will not buy again.

Crown Royal- Very sweet blended whiskey. Shots were good as well as ginger, coke and club soda. Slow buzz and then you feel like you cannot walk or talk. For some reason though this stuff gave me two very bad hangovers and was overly sweet. I will probably drink this one again but will not overdue it.

Canadian Club- Similar to the Crown but a little less sweet. Drank this one with coke and nothing else all day and had a very fast buzz but also came down pretty hard. Hangover was similar to a Vodka one. I would drink this at somebodys party because it is quite available in most homes.

So, my favorite was Four Roses Small batch with CC coming in a close second.
Makers was really on my shit list.

I don't think any liquor should be flavored except vodka(because it's practically tasteless). If you want different flavor combinations, buy soft drinks/garnishes and mix your own.

It's indeed offensive!! The last time I was in the liquor store getting another fifth of Woodford Reserve, they tossed in a couple mini bottles of that Red Stag shit, and then some type of honey bourbon for me to try. Red stag tastes worse than NyQuil, but the Honey stuff wasn't too bad. I prefer to mix my bourbon with one thing.....ice!

Anyone ever try cherry bourbon? I bought Jim Beam's Red Stag.

FRACK. It smells great, but tastes like syrup cherry whiskey. It might be good with club soda, but it aint bourbon. No way in hell.

I'm thinking about taking it to the liqour store for my money back.

The smell was so right. The flavor could have been great. The copious amount of sugar RUINED it.

Ha, just read through alot of this thread. Was surprised to see myself on the first page and never again.

I said I was drinking white russians and snusing grov black... just reading it makes me want to do it again.

Tonight it's been shots of tequila, chased with pineapple soda, followed by skruf stark wjhen I space out. Seems like I'm good at coming up with the right line-up of flavors.

I love to drink, and snus. I also frequent here: http://drunkard.com . The forums(chat board) there is pretty funny. I like this forum more for the variety.

In any case, I don't think I'm drunk enough seeing as how I only noticed one typing mistake. So let me get back to work on that...

My cheap beer of choice is Coors original.

This is because I aspire to be exactly like Danny Glover and Mel Gibson (either/or) from lethal weapon 1&2 when I grow up. And because it is the banquet beer. Argue with that reasoning.

But seriously, cheap beer is cheap beer, none of them are really that bad. It's really all about consistency and budget, in my opinion.

    awesome, just awesome.

I was asked to leave a bar last night because I was drinking evan williams bonded out of a flask/pouring it in other people's drinks. Then on the way home some guys were like"I want that bike, white boy", so we played sidewalk chicken. I won.

I guess the moral of the story is that alcohol makes you a retard, but drinking a shitload of it sure is fun.
awesome story. whenever i ride my bike into the city i get like 3 instances of black kids saying THATS MY BIKE.
