So how does it affect you? I know I can no longer afford my Camel non-filters as they've jumped from 42.00 a carton to over sixty bucks. On top of the federal tax, NC in its infinite wisdom elected Bev Perdue who is pretty freaking close to putting in a 1.00 a pack increase in cigarette tax. This is MADNESS!
For every tobacco user that elected Obama and to my fellow knucklehead North Carolinians that elected Bev Perdue, I owe you a swift kick to the testicles and an open invitation to pay the price difference in my tobacco products. Don't bitch, don't cry, don't try to defend your actions or the actions of the people you elected, just thrust your testicles outward and hand me your billfold.
And if you think that this doesn't affect you in the long run because you only use Swedish Snus, you need to make friends with google.
I'm notoriously apolitical, so this isn't a party issue. All I can say is that from my experience, I believe ex-smokers are some of the biggest anti-tobacco people around. Didn't Obama used to smoke??? I don't know what role he played, if any in this increase, but it wouldn't surprise me. I think my new signature is gonna be, "Obesity kills more than tobacco, tax Twinkies!"
