Being a dad is such a confusing thing sometimes. I really wish there was a handbook that guys got at 14 years old. Here would be the topics covered:

Women
Sex (or how to be really good at it)
How to have a positive self image
How to land that perfect job
How to deal with an asshole boss
How not to be an asshole to your wife
How to enjoy the small moments in life
How to be a good dad

That being said, this is a rather bitter sweet fathers day for me. In my true form I acted like a dick to one of my kids yesterday and in return she got me the coolest gift I've ever gotten for fathers day from her. Talk about feeling like a complete and total asshole.

To all the dads out there, hope you can make it longer between being a dick than I can!

We all learn from our mistakes and there is no point beating ourselves up over them. A real dad is not perfect. A real dad learns from their mistakes and does better the next time.

I love my pop very much. He's recovering nicely from his bypass, and resting comfortably for a change.
My wife and broth-in-law, lost their dad last year, so I know it must be rough on them today.
I was never one of those kids who thought it was cool to hate your parents or be an ass to them. There is nothing like a parent, and nothing like a dad. Love 'em while you got 'em! I do mine!
