I will chime in for a moment and then go back to my corner and be quiet again.

I love Gotlandssnus Yellow los. Best snus ever. Only tobacco product I would and did use for a year and a half until it was discontinued. The flavor is sublime. I don't have words to describe how good it is....and my stash has finally been used up (last can on my birthday thos year)

Runners up? Plain, Flader, Anise and Smoky Cinnamon los. All delicious.

I could live on a rotation of Gotlandssnus los. Jimmy has a way with flavoring los snus. Perfect.

He puts his ass out here every time his company makes a decision that five of us flip out over, a bunch more get mad and the rest of us go "Oh, another discontinued snus. I feel bad for those of you that liked it."

And Jimmy usually gets his ass reamed out for q couple of pages.

As for me, I loved and lost. I have been choking my way through a roll of Skruf los (that has been in my freezer for almost a year) and after that I probably won't buy more snus...because every time I take a pris I miss my gul.

I keep coming back here to see if maybe someone is making a bergamot los without smoke flavor...but the masses are speaking....and they arent speaking my language and finally, I am OK with that.

Now, after seeing what can and will happen within the eclectic fringe tobacco world I am sure to be stocking up on pounds of
snuff...and I sure am putting up a mighty deep cellar of snuff. I refuse to quit tobacco, and I refuse to try and chase my favorite snus. I will take what I can get and move on.

Jimmy, I will always respect your skill as a snus maker and a blender of flavor that made me content...and your ability to take our shit when you bring us the tough news...well, at least that part is over.

Actually, i think your company has done a superb job with the strong portions designed to appeal to the American market and also love your regular portions (except i have never been tempted to try Ice Fruit). But that doesn't mean that you should completely abandon what may be the most respected lineup of los snus in the business. Doing a special run of one or two of your respected los flavors each year will add prestige to your company and I bet they will sell out within a couple months. I vote to start with Flader.

Kind of hard to figure this out really, the gul was a spectacular product, and my sample of green was to die for, the cinnamon sample was lovely. I have no love at all for Jakobssons, well maybe the Flader.

Really?? Well thats a dam shame. that should never have been discontinued. Jimmy has no idea how many people were probably disappointed when he quit making it. I would think that his only real feedback would be from the members of snuson. Raise a bigger stink. Get him in here to explain how he can just stop making it. There has to be a ton of people that used it if it was in production for that long.

New flavors are nice but ya have to keep making the staples.

Jimmy!!! Forget about the american tastes for a bit and make the faithfull long time followers what they need. Please.

    do it for the children.

It would take a risk(not too great imo) on Gotland's part, but I think it would cover the costs involved, and make a small profit on top of it. Nobody's gonna get rich off of lössnus, but it can be a prestige item that showcases the blender's art, and keeps an important piece of history alive. If nothing else, it'll get me to STFU, and that's worth something :^D
now that you mention it I do think I remember that poll. Probably wouldn't hurt to do a poll again since so many of the los snus is unavailable. Thats up too you who want it tho. I do think it would make a nice limited edition snus....at least.

It is odd that he had such good los and now the entire Jaks line is portions......seemingly flavored to american tastes.

So what do I do with all those yellow tins of Gots portion and los that are vacuum sealed and in my freezer?
Maybe I'll just keep them where they are stacked on top of the mountain of Thunder Coffee Supreme and the Thunder Chocomint. Sounds like a plan.

Portions and cig filters keep tobacco stains off our fingers and little bits out of the mouth: it's all just tobacco prophylaxis.

So Jimmy: Could we commission a bespoke Gotlandssnus(on) lös?

Unfiltered cigarettes aren't any less safe than filtered models. Filtered/light cigarettes are one of the biggest tobacco related scams perpetrated on consumers. They're a visual gag meant to make people feel safe, not actually make them safe. Kind of like the security theatre in our airports.

Personally, I believe that many new snus users who started out with portions will tend to convert to Los when they don't have to be discreet, such as evenings and weekends, etc. Some have been put off by the ridiculous stuff written about how difficult it is to hand bake a pris. Carrying around a little tool to make a pris is beyond ridiculous.

However, I did just yesterday try the Gotlandssnus Grey and it is a bit one dimensional in flavor, so I can understand why you discontinued it. However, put me down for a couple rolls of Green or Yellow if you decide to do a special run. Also, I would definitely try a Los version of Classic Strong or Wintergreen Strong.

This is not analagous to the change from regular to filtered cigarettes. Los is not more dangerous or harder to tolerate than portion. Just less discrete when you are making a pris or when you are removing a pris from your mouth. At tje same time it is tastier and is actually more discreet when you are using it than a regular portion because you can use a smaller amount and it will mold itself better to your mouth.

@Jimmy: give us the real story,
please. Why not just lighter cans? Should we still expect Julesnus this winter?
    :^D

I'm not Jimmy, but I'll throw in my 2¢... I think it comes down purely to economics, and prioritizing resources. Lössnus just isn't a big seller, and is a declining market. I'd equate lössnus with unfiltered cigarettes in the 80s. Used by old timers, and cigarette aficionados, but on the steady decline. That's why I keep pushing for special releases. That'll keep the aficionados happy, won't waste machine time, and most importantly will continue the long history of traditional Swedish snus. You hosers have to get on board though. A special release is special. You need to get it while you can, and stick it in the freezer. That might mean coming up with a couple hundred dollars at a time, but it's an investment in the future. Snus always appreciates in value, so your $200 today, may be worth $250 next year. By supporting a release like that it adds value to the snus company, so they do it again next year, and hedges against inflation.
