The user can choose whether to lit the cigarette as usual, or to remove a thin film from around the filter that allows the nicotine to penetrate the skin of the user's laps, introducing it into the blood, and hence give stimulation when not lit.
    Hmmm... "Lap" stimulation.

I don't see it selling too well, and I'd expect some resistance to having people in non-smoking places with a cigarette hanging out of their mouths.

But it's good to see the innovation.

No, not me, I wouldn't buy it. I'm done with cigs, in any form. Any form of burning tobacco for that matter. Pretty much done with anything but snus, actually. I suppose I might try one of those "dissolvables", if they ever make one strong enough.

Kinda defeats the purpose of quitting ...
Always having a ready temptation at hand!

Seems like nothing more than another cigarette marketing gimmick!
Then again, just more ammo for the anti-tobacco freaks...
          You betcha, that's innovation!

I don't think it'll do well here in the states. The surgeon general won't get behind it as a hard-reducing product, that's for sure. If anything they'll lament that a cig is being sold with twice the amount of nicotine. The media here will have a ball with it for a few days then it'll be forgotten. Hell, the first thing I'd do is rip off the film and light the effer up and have to sit because of the rush. That would probably be the only one I'd have though. Also, I think that American smokers will be pretty demanding on the taste of the tobacco itself. Plus, making the filter wet and then putting it back would just be gross.

The e-cig is a better idea but that's not taking off either. Well, maybe it is as they're marketing the heck out of it in the malls up here, I just didn't like it.

Actually, the surgeon general already believes smoking is "hard-reducing"... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11394947

                    Their English translation is
kinda creepy.. The filter is "impregnated" with nicotine
and an unlit cig? You'll look like a weirdo.
