I've heard of Predator dip, never gotten to try it though. The cans look kick-ass if you ask me! Almost sounds like they're trying to emulate Grizzly, but that's just my guess.

Just got my 1st can of Straight flavor today. I wanted to get some pouches, but the store didn't have any. Sometimes I think it'd be easier to just order from Northerner, which I might do sometime.

Anyway, it's Grizzly Straight Long Cut, and I must say, I really like it.

I think the answer is deffinetly yes. I was reading about the new Indian snus thats out, on the companys website. In India they call the portions "filters" and claim they make the expierence less harmfull to the gums. If that is true with snus pouches, i would think it would be true as well for US dip. but then again, im no expert.

I got myself a can of the str8 griss pouches for myself too.. pretty good. ive never gotten too into doing dip on a regular basis. i really want to try some natural flav dip now. none of the stores around me had anything natural flavor. Im also going to try the Cope smooth hickory sometime... i like the sound of a smooth hard wood in my lip.

I wanna try the COPE long cut flavors too, Straight, Smooth Hickory, and Whiskey. I also haven't had Copenhagen Long Cut yet. I don't why I feel facinated with American dip now, I never took to it, or was interested before. I gues it's new to me, and the excitement will wear off, like I think it has with snus. I guess I'm gonna try and build a dipamid, have 2 empties so far, Copenhagen Snuff, and Skoal Classic. I really like this Grizzly Straight, I was unsure if I'd like Straight, but I might like it more than Natural. They both have a sweet element to them. But like snus, I don't feel an urge to try the various flavors, like mint etc.

So, I snus at work, and when I'm out, and dip at home. I like dip more than los snus.

Bad things about dip compared to snus I find, is it's not so easy to drink when you have a dip in, any kind of drink, long cut is way easier to drink, and I guess a pouch would even be easier. Not much beats a good snus and some coffee though.

personally I didn't have much luck with the COPE brand moist snuffs.

Whiskey blend was sub-par to Copenhagen Black. And personally pouring a cap-ful of your favorite liquor in a can of Copenhagen snuff/Long cut is alot better. ( Actually I think Copenhagen is bar non the best brand of any tobacco for pouring liquor into. That is my personal opinion, however)

Smooth hickory was really a unique flavor, and really is a hate or love it sorta thing.

Straight. hrmmmm. The straight flavor is toned down to bring more tobacco flavor. I enjoyed it. But maybe the straight flavor coulda been just a tad bit more pronounced (personal opinion).

There is a special fascination with American Moist Snuff that any person who enjoys tobacco should at least keep an open mind about. While emailing Northerner about a snus order that was delayed a while ago I asked about their American Dip selections and one of the representatives commented that it is very successful overseas. So its both ways, we may be burnt out on it because its from here but now they're exposed to it and are eating it up. Just like we're slowly starting to eat up snus and snuff. ESPECIALLY considering everywhere hardcore on these smoking bans. So just enjoy it! You can't compare the two because both are so unique in their own way.

Regarding the drinking, that sounds like something you just need to get used to. Remember when you first used snus, maybe your portion or lossnus kept falling and mudsliding and etc, until finally you got used to it. Kinda like that.

I gotta stop commenting in this thread because every time I reply to something I wanna go out and buy a can. First wanted COPE then skoal then anything straight, then back to COPE then grizzly and then more Wintergreen and now Strait/hickory/whiskey blends. And actually now I'm kinda got a hankering' for some Skoal Spearmint. Where that came from, I dunno but if you ever just have a slight inclination towards trying a flavored snuff, try the spearmint :-D

I just got back from the gas station, I was wanting some Copenhagen Long Cut, and some Grizzly Natural Long Cut, but this weak store didn't have either. I really need to visit a tobacco store. I think about ordering online, but the shipping charges turn me off. Anyway, I didn't walk up there for nothing, so I got a can of Grizzly Natural Fine Cut. I prefer long cut, but I can deal with it. I only have an open can of Skoal Straight LC at home, and I wanted to try this Grizzly Natural, and probably won't get back to a store till Sunday. so these should last me, plus I got a truckload of Swedish Snus.

So, I am hoping this Grizzly Natural FC is worth the walk.

Oh, I totally forgot to see if they had Skoal Key, but I bet they didn't.

That Grizzly Natural FC, I think must have been a bad can, because it was so bad I had to spit it out and brush my teeth.

Anywho, I went dip shopping today.
I'll call myself in dip experiment mode. Not sure if it's something I wanna do always. just curious to give a real trial.

So far, the best dip I've had is Skoal Classic LC.It had the great taste similar to Copenhagen Snuff, but the LC made it so much easier to use.

I'm not into flavors, so I haven't experimented with those, maybe I will someday, I don't know.

I have had Straight flavor, Grizzly LC, and Skoal LC, the Skoal was much better, and it was waving between "good" and "ok" as a flavor, and sometimes, "uh, I don't think I like this".

So, if Copenhagen Snuff, and Skoal Classic are considered "Natural" flavor, this is what I like best.

                      I bought today:
                      Longhorn Natural LC.
                      Copenhagen LC.
                      Red Seal Natural LC.
                      Timber Wolf Natural LC.
and was curious to try these:
                      Cope Whiskey Blend LC.
                      Cope Smooth Hickory LC.

So, I wanted a break from that Skoal Straight LC, which I still have some, and I wanted to try a few of these Natural LC, and see which one I really like.

Right now, I have in some Longhorn Nat LC. I have a buzz. It's "OK". Not bad. It's doable. About 15 mins into it so far. It's a bit on the bland side.

The Longhorn dips are a little bit bland..and hard to keep together for me. Same goes for the Timberwolf.

The Longhorn is OK, to me. I'll use up the can. It's not bad or anything. A bit salty though. Now I did think this Red Seal Nat LC was very good. I don't wanna open any more cans till I use these open ones up. Have 3 now. I did see that Longhorn and Timber Wolf are both Pinkerton Tobacco. Red Seal is US Smokeless.

I don't know. I'm not too keen on flavored snus, so I haven't been very interested in trying the flavored dips. But I might, someday.

I've been struggling with packing the can, but these instructions I found work pretty good:

                                Step
                                1

You will want to make sure that the paper seal around the tin has been broken open. Take your fingernail or a thin, sharp object and run it along the lid and make sure the seal has been separated all the way around.

                                Step
                                2

Next, with your good hand, make a letter 'C' with your middle finger and thumb. Grasp the tin with your thumb and middle finger so that the seal between the lid and body of the tin are completely covered by those fingers. You should be using firm, but not too much pressure. The top cover of the tin should be facing up so that you can see it.

                                Step
                                3

Completely relax the index finger of the hand you are using to pack the tin.

                                Step
                                4

Holding the tin in front of you at stomach level, bend your wrist so that your palm is facing your body.

                                Step
                                5

Rotate your wrist so that the space between your thumb and middle finger are pointing up and towards the ceiling. To pack the tin, quickly rotate your hand back down to the original starting position.

                                Step
                                6

Repeat as often as necessary. You may want to occasionally open the tin and inspect the contents to check that the tobacco is well packed. When you get good at this, 3 or 4 packs should be plenty.
