It's a bit ironic. Not long ago the Europeans were laughing at us after PACT went through because it limited our options but now they are sucking on Picanell and Oliver Twist and learning to like it. Its almost like seeing a broke smoker going through a public ashtray hoping to find a large cigarette but. Whats next for us snus users?

That's a bit harsh GoVegan! I don't think anyone was laughing about it when PACT came in ... it was sad to see everyone scrambling around in the US, buying new snus freezers to put their stash in.
In the long term though I think people in ALL countries who think they want to be able to use snus for the long-term future should definitely consider finding a way to obtain cured unprocessed tobacco and learn to make lös snus for themselves. I don't think at any time regulations are going to be relaxed anywhere.
Also I think that tobacco bites have the potential to be every bit as good as snus ... just nobody's making them the right size/strength/flavour for snus users at the moment. The Swedish Match General tobacco cuts had it perfect before they stopped making and the Blue Ocean and Jagarpris ones are quite close but currently a bit too sweet. Oliver Twists all taste of liquorice/aniseed which is OK if you like that kind of thing but not if you don't! And Picannells have just the right taste but are too small. All it would take is for one manufacturer to get this kind of product right for the average snuser and bingo - they'd sell a lot of it to EU snusers.

Yup - they're a little bit bigger than Oliver Twists ... but they're still too small to be a serious snus replacement for me at least. Any port in a storm though, eh?
I've just ordered some of the Grimm & Triepel "Marschall Schnecke" coils of unflavoured (and presumably unsweetened) chewing tobacco twist. From the other Grimm & Triepel products I suspect it's going to be fire cured and therefore a bit like one of the kendal twists - but I'm hoping it won't.
I ordered from Mr. Snuff - along with the Blue Ocean bites.Squeezyjohn

by FrostedIf everything goes wrong after 25/04/11 we EU snussers need to be prepared. Do we give up, go back to smoking or is there something else?
