Everybody: Give Northerner/new GetSnus a break

    Nice job you have Roo! outsidelinebacker, I do not work for Northerner, although that could be a dream job one day, but I have placed many orders with them and always felt that they have taken care of me. I just look at some of these complaints and think that it almost must feel like a slap in the face to the people at Northerner who do work hard to earn our business. I also think that Northerner does value our opinion and that is the reason why they place items like polls on snuson. I do feel that it's important for people to post complaints in a forum like snuson so we can see the overall reliability of a company but I think that it was getsnus who could have handled this better and not Northerner.

        No, when a company buys out another, it shouldn't abandon it's first business to do so, that's called overextending yourself. Northerner.com should still be working, they obviously don't have the capacity, manpower or ability to handle owning two places, as they have made this purchase of getsnus at the sacrifice of their normal northerner site. Hopefully this is resolved in the next month or so.

          I understand not bitching about getsnus, because it was a quick takeover, but I have never seen a company transition be so messy. My company just got bought out last second too and it's nothing like this. The company has basically stopped running. My complain isn't with getsnus, that's to be expected, it's that they have abandoned their Northerner site as well in all this madness. They have shit on backorder yet don't tell you, so after your shipment hasn't shipped after days you start wondering where the hell it's at. Then you find out it's on backorder. They should have said that upfront so we could take our business elsewhere. Why charge someone 20$ for next day shipping when they don't plan to ship it for 2 weeks? Just seems like a bad business model.
          Yeah but was your company dealing with several regulatory agencies that were constantly changing the rules, and generally doing whatever they can do to jack up your business?? I can assure you all, this was a very quick aquisition, and that fact alone will cause hiccups in business. I am surprised they actually kept the doors open at Getsnus right after the takeover. They could have closed the doors for a week or so to acclimate, but they didn't...because they wanted to ensure the Getsnus loyalists would still have their site to buy from, albeit from a new "owner". If Northerner hadn't bought Getsnus, SM would have closed the doors, because it was a loser deal from the word jump. SM intentionally sold on lower margins, or even below them sometimes.

          Northerner has consistently offered the widest variety, best prices and fantastic customer service over the years. So will Getsnus under Northerner. Many things are happening behind the scenes people, things that prove Northerner's commitments to American snus users. Frank and Fred are working as hard as they to ensure things run smoothly, give them a chance. Just know that times are tumultuous right now in the snus world with PACT, FDA, and many other issues, let's cut them some slack. So if it requires us ordering a week in advance of our "normal" ordering cycles to ensure we aren't without, then we should do it until everything calms down. Northerner has made a commitment to us.....we should return the favor, IMO.

            One day to process and ship is not bad! Now it will take about 2 weeks to get here but that is the mail service.

                I have literally no place in this conversation. Since discovering scotch snuff my snus usage has dwindled to such a reasonable amount that the stock I know have will last me more than two years.

                I guess what I am trying to say is that if you find yourself running out of snus and your order hasn't come in, you should go get a tube of Rooster. Nicotine craving over.

                  yeah really stock up on that sheet and dont run out. i dont see why everyones so worried about 5 can discounts, if you know you like a brand of snus and are mostl likely to enjoy it forever, why would only want 5 cans. buy a roll or 2 or three.

                      Enough of this. Everyone just take your business elsewhere if you don't like it. That's what I will do. Northerner has been an excellent company and has been awesome in sending ambassadors to snuson, a first in the industry. Once they fix all their problems start buying through them again. Like any business.

                          For me, and it didn't matter so much, as I had no orders going on, what I thought it was odd, and maybe sneaky, was how the "takeover" happened virtually overnight, with no notice at all. I mean, why couldn't someone from getsnus have said something a few days before? I think that's what stumped us all. I guess we don't need to know, but it would have been considerate to the customers. But even though there are some current snags, most people are happy Norherner customers, so I suspect that gestsnus will get on track soon, and it will be fine.

                            Well I used Getsnus for a year, never had a bad experience, then the Last order with them just went into back order limbo. Then I go to check the status and they have changed hands. I blame the former owners for the deception, and for the grief.

                            Then I am contacted about my order from the new owners, going to cost me 22$ more to complete the order, But they will give me a 15% discount. Well the code was read at a 2% discount, I had to pay a lot more for my order, and when I contacted Fredrik about it, he gave me his word he would "take care of it".

                            Well, all he really did was blow smoke up my ass, because all he did was buy some time for the hub bub to die down. I got screwed by both parties. It is generally not a good idea to lie and screw over long time customers. My last order was with Buysnus. What else can I do. This whole affair went against me. My 2 cents.!

                              I'm looking at the site now, sorta maybe kinda thinking of an order possibly, but they do not have the snus I like, I like Offroad Original portion, Phantom/Rothbrix both the regular and brown portion. Yeah, I like General, Ettan, and Grov pretty much, but they arn't my faves, and I also like the lower price of my faves. I'm also looking at the minis, and I just can't pay full size can price for a mini can........

                                I wonder if SM should do 11 can rolls on the minis.

                                The cans are shorter - if 11 cans is the same height as 10 regular there might even be some distribution chain advantages.
