Any snus online order businesses that are not Northerner?

    Hello Everyone,

what companies are out there that are not Northerner DBA (doing business as). There are so many companies online, but when you get to go to check out, only to find it's a company DBA, owned by Northerner.

My last GetSnus order was SNAFU'd.

I just want to do business with a company that has:

    1. An accurate inventory system e.g., don't show it as in-stock when it's not
    2. A certain amount of customer care, respect, and appreciation e.g., if an item is not in-stock, email me and let me know shortly after placing my order. Give me choices, hold order until in-stock, ship what we have, choose another item/brand. I should not have to get in touch with you (company) to find out what the status is on my order.
    3. Have an easier means of communication, like regular email to "support." These "one-way" contact message posts the companies have are not customer friendly.
    4. If someting is not in-stock, pay me the courtesy of giving me a "by when" date for anticipated arrival at your facility.

I just want an online company that treats it's customers with repsect.

    Thanks,
    S Banks

Was your last order during the Northerner conversion? I had an order in at that time, part of it was back ordered and Frank was good in explaining the situation. Gave me a good deal on the reorder and threw in a few extras as well. I've never had any other issues with Northerner, and if you do, you can contact them directly here on this board. I think we all need to be a little patient considering they are new to the US, in terms of warehousing, and soon the kinks will be worked out.

    Otherwise you can use Buysnus.

      Thanks Tin Man,

I placed my order with getSnus on 2010-05-13 22:54:07 I used my Northerner login with success, so that tells me I got in after Northerner took over. My previous orders with Northerner Sweden and US warehouses have not had any issues.

I'm patient when it comes to issues involving online ordering to an extent. But my issue is more with the lack of communication. The majority of us snus users have a pattern when it comes to ordering. Typically I get my orders when I am on my last can or two. When I place an order and I see that the item I want is not in stock, I'll go with my second or third choice. But when an item is shown as being in-stock, and it's not... then communicate with me.

I've run two ecommerce businesses, all of our customers gave us kudos on our ability to communicate fast as to the status of their orders when it concerned out-of-stock items. All it takes is an email.

      Thanks for the BuySnus link.

Fair enough. I don't want to make excuses for them, but they just took a major step in gaining market share in the US, and I don't even know how many employees they have. I'd be willing to bet you aren't the only person who's had a less than desirable experience with them lately. Maybe Frank or Frederik will see this and contact you to explain whatever it is that happened with your order. They're pretty good about that from what I hear.

Also, if you are in the US and want to keep your orders domestic, Northerner is your only option. Of course, you're free to order from Sweden if you so choose. Buysnus has an excellent reputation around these parts, and there are some people who will only order from them. Either way, I hope you get your snus, so you can enjoy it here with the rest of us.

Actually, I've had much worse customer service from BuySnus than I have from GetSnus/Northerner. At least GetSnus responds promptly to complaints and tries to do everything they can to make things right.

You're right, however, that the snus vendors catering to the US need to learn to be pro-active, but that's a cultural gap, I think, more than anything else. We Americans tend to have much higher standards for customer service and communication than other countries. But with time, they'll learn how to keep us happy. Otherwise, they'll lose business to competitors, and I think they're smart enough not to make that mistake.

I wasn't too ecstatic about my GetSnus.com order. This was done after the merger with Northerner. I placed my order on the 14th for a SnusX Kit as well as a couple of snuffs. I went with the UPS option for shipping, since I wanted an idea of what I might me looking at for ship times after PACT goes through. Everything I ordered was listed as being in stock. My order wasn't actually shipped out from the US warehouse until the 17th, and it arrived last Monday, the 24th. I think it was all the more frustrating that after placing my GetSnus order, I ordered a couple of snuffs from MrSnuff and from Toque (PA, and UK respectively) and got the MrSnuff order well before GetSnus, and the Toque order or the same day.

The shipping time I can only blame on UPS (UPS for me has been notorious for only delivering on time, even if my package is sitting at the UPS hub 15mile from my house for 2 days ), but it was a little frustrating that my other orders likely went out the same day I purchased them, whil the Getsnus order took four days to get out the door. That, and the fact that while GetSnus threw in some free cans (nice gesture, for sure) they were Onico minis and Onico WPs. I had a bit of a WTF moment there. It's kind of like going to a liquor store and getting a free six pack of O'Douls with the purchase of Bacardi 151 .

A little communication does go a long way. I do want to note that I'm not really upset about my experience, teething pains are going to happen with a change in ownership, and since I wasn't anywhere near out of snus, delivery time was not a big deal. If I was out it might have been a different story though

              Just my experience with GetSnus/Northerner.

As for recommendations on other sites, Buysnus/snuscentral have pretty good prices and shipping times in my experience. I also know that premiumsnus ships to the US, but I have no experience with them.

I've had issues with both Buysnus and Northerner, but they've always been worked out more than satisfactorily. I agree that Northerner's communication could be better, but they've always responded to my inquiries within 24 hours. Where they could use some work, is updating the status on backordered items. They've always quickly answered my questions, but being a little more proactive would help customer satisfaction. I'd order from Northerner or Buysnus. Both companies are the best in the business, and a little patience is in order. It's a tumultuous time in the tobacco industry, and snus' origin is a long way from North America.

I got the same thing, but if you check the date it was about to expire. It's better for them to give it to us then to throw it away right?

Well, SnusCentral/BuySnus shorted me an entire roll on my last order. (BTW, PremiumSnus is a mirror of BuySnus, too.) I sent a complaint to them via their Contact page. That was over 48 hours ago, and I have yet to hear from them. So I hope you're right, lxskllr, that they will work things out to my satisfaction, but understandably I'm very displeased with them at present.

They should fix you up. I'd send them another message. Don't get shitty about it; just ask about the status of your complaint. Maybe your last one got misplaced.

Oh, don't worry, I'm not going to lose my temper with BuySnus. I plan to send a follow-up tomorrow, if I still haven't heard from them. But the longer this takes to get resolved, the less likely I'll do any more business with them.

I only brought it up to make the point that GetSnus/Northerner certainly isn't the only vendor who can royally screw up an order. Mistakes happen -- what's more important is how well and how quickly they get fixed.

I've heard complaints about every vendor around. The only reason I never had a problem with Getsnus, is I didn't use them that much. I'm sure I would have eventually :^)

Yeah, every vendor will have issues here and there. I've had a problem with Snuscentral once where they didn't send out one of my orders. After a week of it not shipping (This was during the icelandic volcano thing, so i thought that was the issue) I got a hold of them on thier contact page, and recieved a reply the next day, and then shipped. SNAFUs happen. I won't let my one experience sour me, since in reality it wasn't bad, and I like that I can get snuff and snus from one place if I'd like.

So, yeah, I guess my point was that everyone has issues, and communication is key, on both sides of the table.

Oh, and Danielan, I'm not sure if it is better to send Onico to me versus throwing it away, it's probably going in the garbage anyway. I tried one, tastes like twigs and berries to my mouth Of course, YMMV.
